  Yes, I have been reading about the rain and downpours in your area... that much rain, so fast...
...as you mentioned, can cause mudslides and other issues such as flash floods, etc.

  I am wishing you well in getting your new shoes and a new cute dress.

OMG! Has it been over a year since my last visit? Sorry it has taken so long to catch up with everyone. As we all know, there has been a lot going on these days. But, I am still here, and I don't have any plans of going anywhere.

I hope everyone is well. I am feeling much better these days, considering the circumstances. Thank you for reaching out to me @Northern Star Girl (Danielle). I hope you are well also. I know this is your busy season. I will visit more often with more news from the She Shed soon.

Still here and doing well! No major news to report yet. Oh, wait, I had cataract surgery in one eye. Still waiting the second surgery. I honestly don't think I've ever been able to see this good 🤓 Looks like I need to do some dusting in the She Shed again lol. Hope you all are doing well too.

I've heard quite a few people say how clear their vision is post-cataract surgery. I wonder if it is that clear, or if you struggled with vision for so long that any improvement seems miraculous.

I'm not at the surgery stage yet, but my vision is slowly getting worse from early cataract formation.

I have a client that had cataract surgery and she is gleeful about how clear and bright...
and colorful her vision is now.  She wishes that she would have done it years earlier.

Well, I did a thing! I guess they say it's considered a life changing thing? My apartment building, for the last 14 years, changed ownership in 2025. The new owners approached me with an $offer to move out. It was a small affordable gated retirement community with 30 units in beautiful Southern California (LA/Venture county area).

The new owner wants full market value, so the building is no longer a gated retirement community, plus remodeling, the rent went from $1000 per month to $2100 per month. Not willing to stay through the remodeling noise, 30+ elderly retired folks now have to find new affordable housing.

After a couple fruitless months of apartment hunting, I realized I would have to look out of state, and much to my surprise, I was able to purchase a home in Oregon, 3 times the size of my old apartment, and just a couple hundred dollars more than my original $1000 rent.

Oregon is beautiful, and I do have family and friends here. It was a big change, new healthcare provider, new auto insurance, utilities, food, local LGBT center etc... I think I'll stay for awhile, at least until the cost of living pushes me out again. I already miss my family and friends down south, but I think I'll be happy here.

Change can be good. People CAN be friends you haven't met yet.
Look for the positive. 
That's easy for me to say ha ha. Im trying to tell my wife I'm transgender.
Though 3 different times I dropped everything and moved thousands of miles away.

Saving money and moving to a more accepting area is why I moved out of state, too. I hope you get settled in soon and enjoy the next phase of living. Nothing wrong with a fresh start!
