It's been a few months now since I've been tested. I had a couple of failed at home tests so waited a bit then got a proper blood test on Saturday.

Got my results just now. Mostly good although my estradiol is down a little so will be increasing my dose of E to bring into range. I don't want to push too high as it will increase risks, especially being oral route.

T is well suppressed as expected on Cyproterone Acetate. But also it's known to increase Prolactin levels so these are a little high. I'm not worried at this point.

Do you have a GP or someone who will be reviewing these results? Or are you totally DIY with making your own adjustments?

The reason I ask is that high prolactin levels can be a sign of a more complicated issue, such a a benign pituitary tumor to thyroid issues. It is ok to watch the E and T, but hormones all interact together. That is just how the body is designed.

If you are totally DIY, I would have someone review your numbers just in case. It could be that everything is fine, and I know finances are a factor. Your GP may want to add another test just to rule out other issues. But it would be worthwhile to rule out any problems that may be lurking in the background.

Just want you to be safe.

I might try and ask my GP as I can then lobby them again for a letter to change my passport gender! They seem standoffish though they are technically bound to assist if they suspect harm.

It's most likely due to CPA as blocker which is renowned for these being a potent progestin itself.

I'm totally DIY though work hard too research as much as I can, use published prescribing guides and papers to guide me.

I totally get it. But it never hurts to have another set of eyes look it over from a different perspective. From my own experience, I know I can get tunnel vision and be focused on one thing, while my issue was caused by something I never expected. It wasn't even an endocrinologist who said, "Wait a minute. It could be...", which led to testing, and sure enough, she was right!

I'm not trying to be a backseat driver for you, but I know you are facing challenges, so I pose questions for you to consider. I just want you to be safe while you wait to get into the "system".
