GOP lawmaker pushing bill to imprison drag queens accused of misconduct with minor relative

Greg Owen (24 March 2026)
Drag queen Nina West is calling out an Ohio Republican for a bill that would send drag queens and trans people to prison, despite the fact that he was accused of touching a "minor relative" multiple times and climbing into her bed only wearing his underwear with an erection.
According to some sources, that "minor relative" is his own daughter.
According to NBC4i, the minor said that Ohio Republican state Rep. Rodney Creech, the cosponsor of the bill, rubbed her leg and grabbed her waist. She said she was "put to tears" because she was so upset.
Creech was stripped of his committee assignments following an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct involving a minor family member last year. Former Republican sheriff and current state Rep. Phil Plummer (R) was interviewed by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation since he talked to Creech shortly after the accusations were made. He said that Creech's comments in a private conversation defending himself over the charges were "disgusting, uncalled for, and appalling."
Creech defended himself by citing Donald Trump as an example.
"Like President Trump, I am no stranger to false media attacks. This will not deter my important work," he said in a statement reported by
Cleveland.com
.
Creech's work right now includes passing Ohio House Bill 249, which would send drag queens and trans people to prison if they kissed in front of a 12-year-old, one of many draconian proposals in the bill.
Lawmakers were upfront that the new drag ban law is "Jim Crow" for trans people.
