Elon Musk Says It's "True" He Only Got Involved in Politics Because of Vivian Wilson

Sometimes, a villain origin story is really just that simple. Per a recent post on his social media platform X, Musk chalks his own up to having a transgender kid.

On Sunday, the right-wing billionaire responded to a post alleging that, had it not been for his daughter Vivian Wilson's gender transition, he would not have gotten involved in politics.

"We should never forget that if not for Vivian, Elon Musk never would have gotten involved, never would have purchased Twitter, Kamala Harris would be President and the Left-wing would have total instrumental control over the construction of Skynet," the original post read. (That post was made in reaction to Wilson being announced as a model for Rihanna's Fenty lingerie line for the brand's 2026 Pride campaign.)

Musk's pithy response does leave room to question whether he's being authentic or sarcastic, but his involvement in politics also coincides with his desire to — as he expressed to right-wing provocateur Jordan B. Petersen in 2024 — destroy the "woke mind virus," which he blamed for turning Wilson trans.

While Musk publicly professes that he wouldn't have been so political were it not for Wilson's transition, Wilson herself has denied that her father's right-wing turn has anything to do with her.
