Wow you must have a massochistic streak wanting to come here! Welcome though.

I don't mean any offense, but I'd be lying if I said I wanted to come here. It was the quickest visa we were eligible for. That's the only reason we didn't choose another country.

For anyone interested in the numbers, it's about £7,100 for the initial spouse visa. It's good for two and a half years. It will be another £7,100  for the next two and a half years (if we stay). After that we can apply for Indefinite leave to remain, and citizenship. Another £2,300 and that's with us doing all the work. If you need a lawyer it's going to be a lot more money.

Our friends and family all thought I could just move here because I'm married to a Brit....nah, mate.

Ha Ha! We have a spread eagle pub too! There is also the Black Cock Inn up near Kielder reservoir too!

No offense taken! There is a reason i have no country selected on my profile. I exist here and that's it. I have absolutely no desire to associate with being from here.

Here's one that's just fun. 🙂

I shook hands with an immigrant last week on a green card.

He is from Spain.  He thinks that the USA is the best country in the world.  He and his family have opportunities here that exceed where they are from.  He is grateful.  We have many rights and privileges here.

I think many citizens here take for granted what they have here.  We should be thankful for what we have.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

I'm sure he will enjoy his time in the states but (and please don't take this the wrong way Chrissy) Spain has the US beat on rights and priviledges. To be honest most of Europe fares better actually.

Well he and his family grew up in Spain and I figure he made a sound conclusion based on his own experiences.

I suppose it depends on what a person wants and what she or he thinks are valuable rights and privileges.

Hi Everyone

Australia is very lucky in being able to prevent Devlyn from entering the country.  We have great white sharks, Chironex fleckeri, blue-ringed octopuses and saltwater crocodiles patrolling our coastlines.  If Devlyn manages to get through all of that, the land creatures would have their go and they are too numerous to mention here.

All jokes aside, I'm British by birth and I would not go back there to live, even if they offered me large sums of money.

Devlyn, may you find a comfortable place to rest your weary bones and yes, a "Curse on a Nation!". I will let you figure that one out!

Best Wishes Always

That's true Sarah, but when Australia floats by other countries, it sometimes comes close enough for people to just hop onboard. 🤣

Sarah B

Hi Everyone

Thats's no problem you will have to wait a few million years before it gets near any country so that one can hop on board!  Nope, not going to happen, so we are very safe!
