John Russell (2 Sep 2026)

Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) lost Tuesday's U.S. Senate primary to incumbent Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) a month after apologizing for suggesting that Democrats should moderate their support for transgender rights.

On Tuesday evening, the Associated Press called the race for Markey, with the incumbent earning 65% of the vote to Moulton's 35%.

Both candidates have histories of supporting LGBTQ+ rights and voting against anti-trans legislation. Moulton co-sponsored the Transgender Bill of Rights when it was introduced in 2023, as well as multiple versions of the Equality Act. He's also maintained a score of 100 on HRC's Congressional Scorecard, and he voted against the anti-trans "Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act" last year.

But in the wake of President Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 presidential election, involving a vitriolic anti-trans campaign, Moulton was one of the first Democrats to suggest that support for trans rights had hurt the Democratic party — despite exit polling that indicated trans issues had little to do with Trump's victory.

"I have two little girls," Moulton told the New York Times days after the election. "I don't want them getting run over on a playing field by a male or formerly male athlete, but as a Democrat I'm supposed to be afraid to say that."

Cheers to the voters out there, and that loser is... well... a loser. Hey, doofus, plenty of chicks could kick my can in sports, no matter if it were pre-puberty or during.

Also, NOT EVERYONE CARES ABOUT SPORTS! These imbeciles honestly believe that sports is the be-all, end-all of existence. Pathetic.

Good riddance.

If you change your stance after being elected, or to cater to someone else's rhetoric, you have lost your humanity. Don't let the door hit you on your way out.
