I had an odd hypothetical question...

Suppose you have a girl that's a post-operative transsexual. She's gotten her legal identity - including license and birth certificate - to indicate that she is indeed female.

Now, suppose she wanted to try out for competitive sports... would she be permitted to compete as a woman? It was just a question that sort of popped into my head recently...

As far as the Olympics are concerned, it pretty much answers that question, and the answer seems to be yes, but according to certain conditions.

Wow, that is a VERY fascinating read. Thanks a lot! It certainly raised several of the questions I had been considering regarding the issue myself. And while it's not conclusive by any means, it does seem to offer the most accurate perspective on the situation.
