Quote from: Stottie Girl on July 14, 2026, 05:02:12 PMWell we had a film ratings system (I thought the US have that too?) but people still managed to pass round videos that were banned from time to time. Obviously I missed Salo but I've looked it up now. Sounds like a wholesome family movie lol!

Of course! I had spaced that out. Even though I am in the States, I remember the days of underground VHS concert bootleg trading. Totally different thing, but it's still similar, being VHS tapes.

I remember when I watched a documentary on YouTube talking about "Animal Farm". No, no, no, not THAT Animal Farm. But THIS "Animal Farm". Hearing about how that film was smuggled in was insane. I'm not sure if that doc is still on there.

Well I remember seeing a little bit of an Animal Farm video not sure if it is the very same one you are thinking about but I shall not be giving a synopsis on an access all areas forum!

I've been watching a little "Supergirl" over the past few days.  Years ago I bought Seasons 1-3 and 5 on DVD as they were coming out, however when I got to 3 I was finding the series wasn't keeping my interest.  Then I think I didn't buy 4 because I didn't see it in stores at the time and I figured I'd pick it up later.    Also I was getting annoyed with the crossover episodes because they would only have the Supergirl episode of the crossover on the DVD and none of the others, so it was like Part 1 or Part 4 of a story.

Of course I just recently found out that in Season 4, Nicole Maines was added to the cast as Dreamer/Nia Nals, the first transgender superhero.

Ann Droid. Brilliant comedy where widowed Sue Johnson is given a robot "helper" by her son and the misadventures that follow.
Sisu, a war drama where Ataami Korpi an old gold miner and his faithful Bedlington terrier clash with an SS platoon led by a brutal and corrupt officer  in wartime Finland when the Nazis try stealing his gold. Unfortunately for them he's a legendary former Finnish commando.
Sisu 2 where Ataami and his dog return to his old home  where his family were murdered by the Russians during the war and is now part of Russia. The plan is to dismantle it and return to Finland but it doesn't  go to plan. The Russian war criminal who murdered his family is released from prison to kill Ataami and regain his freedom and a large sum of money.

So I've got through Seasons 1-3 of Supergirl.  I finally got the DVD for Season 4, so I'm watching it right now.  I skipped the Elsewhere finale, however I've enjoyed Nia Nal's introduction.  Although I'm finding the season arc story to be pretty weak.
