Degrassi adds new FtM character

I'm totally admitting to how much of a dork I am by admitting to watching this show.

The new season has a trans character.  I was pretty surprised, considering the show airs on Nickelodeon, or at least one of the many variations of it. He hasn't actually appeared in any episodes yet, but I saw him in the opening credits for tonights episode,  and the website is showing his character profile.  Yeah mainstream media!  (I always knew Canada was way ahead of the US.)

Ha I saw this on Tumblr.  I've done some internet creeping and it appears that his first appearance will be on August 11th.  I hate Degrassi but I've started watching again since I heard the news  I'm curious to see how it compares to my time during high school
