I wonder how many people have thought of the implications of having this diagnosis removed.  Having this as a listed "disorder" gives some of us easier access to medical treatment for our "problem" especially people who wouldn't be able to afford such treatment under other circumstances.  More and more insurance companies in the US are funding hormones for trans patients.  Even the VA has covered surgeries for transmen (though I'm not sure about their coverage for transwomen). Without this coverage, people wouldn't be able to start their physical transition, or get the therapy they need to make it through early transitioning.  I'm not saying that everyone needs therapy, but I do know that it can't hurt, especially if you do need it.
