Hair line and loss

Yes, yes, this has been posted a million times before.    However, all the responses I clicked through were only about FTMs who had been on T for 3 months or so or less.  So, I'm curious, anyone been on T for more than a year and experience significant hair loss? 

I'm closing in on 3 years now and I haven't noticed any major shifts.  I certainly don't have a bald spot, but I do notice some more hair in the shower than I did before T.  Then again, I dyed my hair black from a light, reddish brown since then, so it could be just that the color is more noticeable.  I've also grown my hair out a bit, so the strains are just more prevalent.  I think I did have a shift to a more male hairline, but that's kinda it.

Since the most drastic changes occur within the first few months to a year on T, does this mean I'm safe from hair loss?

I could be wrong on this but I think people lose hair later into transition (like several years), so I would think it could still happen...

My hairline has receded on the sides, but I'm far from bald.  I love my new hairline actually.  I've been on T for 26 months.  I can't remember when it started receding but it was definitely within the first year.

Changes from T can continue for years.  Most cis guys don't start balding until age 60 (with some much earlier around 30).  So it's possible to have hair loss later on as you get older.

actually it usually kicks in after more than a year on T, so no, you're not safe unfortunately.

Look at all your male relatives. As far as I understand it, hair loss is totally a genetic thing.

I'm about 16 months in.  I've noticed a change but it's more squaring around the temples.  I can't wait for it to recede a little more actually.  I love receded hairlines.

When my doctor was first prescribing my T, she asked me several times if I understood that I might experience male pattern balding, and if I would be okay with that. It made me laugh. I don't particularly want to lose any hair, but I don't think I'd mind, either. It'd certainly help me pass better.

Sorry, I have no personal experience with it. I second the reminder that your male relatives are a decent predictor. I have no idea how you could figure out what the timing would be though.

Don't know if it's accurate, but according to askmen.com,

"By the age of 35, about two-thirds of men will experience some appreciable hair loss while nearly 85% of men will have significantly thinning hair by the age of 50."

And at 35 and almost 3 years on T, mine's starting to thin, but I'm genetically predisposed, so I've been prepared for it for a while.  We don't really get extra time because we start later; our hairlines catch up pretty quickly to where they would have been, from what I've been able to gather.
