Another soap confirms trans character, following EastEnders reveal

A second British soap has revealed a transgender character will be joining the cast – after EastEnders made a reveal.

This week the BBC revealed that 21-year-old actor Riley-Carter Millington would join EastEnders – the first time that a trans actor would play a trans character on the soap.
He will play Kyle, a mysterious character who will join the soap's cast before the end of the year.

However, EastEnders isn't the only game in town – and a second soap has revealed that it too will add a trans character.

It was revealed that Annie Wallace is joining the cast of Channel 4's Hollyoaks as a trans teacher. Wallace tweeted: "Yes, it's out. I'm joining Hollyoaks this month!"
