You don't need a letter to change your name. Anyone can do that. Usually you just go to your local probate court and pay money and maybe put a couple lines in the legal news, then have a court date and it is done. Depends on where you live for the exact procedure.

My new endocrinologist is wanting it and Oklahoma City court employee says judges encourage all available documentation , might as well get used to carrying it, so much to change,geez
