So. I talked to my COO and HR a couple weeks ago, about transition they were SUPER supportive. Offering to do training, allowing me to use the women's restroom, 100% no tolerance discrimination policies.

I talked to my CEO today as he was briefed yesterday as I started to want to send the email out. He is just as supportive and behind my decision and allowing me to express myself.

Very nervous/excited.

It's a big thing. My boss knew and HR was in the know but other than that the only thing I did to come out was post it on Facebook.  I did that on a Wednesday.  I didn't have to go back to work till that Friday.  I was scared and nervous. I sat in my truck longer than normal. Finally got out and went inside. No one said anything. No one attacked me either. Several stated callong me Robyn. It was a strange day to say the least but I survived and you know what? You will too.

I came out at work a few weeks ago, with the support of HR and my boss.  So far, everything has gone fine - it was so much less of an event than I feared it would be.  It's wonderful to be yourself.

Awesome! I think all of us are fearful of the unknown. No matter how well you know someone, you can rarely if ever know what they are really thinking or how they will react to news like this. But damn, it sure feels great once you can stop hiding in fear and finally become the person you always should have been. I have only been out 5 weeks, and already everything feels normal. I am still getting used to my name, but everyone I work with has been awesome, even those who don't understand. I wish you the best of luck on your journey!
