Not happy with the new Canadian census I had to fill out the other day They had a couple of standard questions like marriage status and number of children but I am no overly comfortable with giving my name, address, email, phone number, gender and finally gender at birth.

I am not too concerned with the current government but we do have Maple Maga waiting in the wings who thinks that the worst of Trumps actions are just dandy and they want to bring it to Canada.

That is a tough one. I get not wanting to put those things down. I know for me I would use what is on my birth certificate, but that may or may not be what they mean. I hope you find away you can deal with it that allows you to be comfortable and not outed by what you are required to put down. Hugs

I may not always agree with our current ruling party (Liberals) but at least they aren't out to destroy Canada. We are being allowed into trade agreements because of our stable government which is at risk should the Conservative party follow it's current path. Plus when you have a party that is a fan of project 2025, human rights are potentially at risk.

I find it regrettable that there is no real voice anymore for moderate Conservatives and that the right wing is going more towards extremism. I mean the leader of the official opposition refuses to get security clearance so he can do his job


As I said under our current government I feel protected but should the Conservatives get elected then I fear that my rights and protections may be at risk. Lets just hope that Canadians will choose to protect our rights and trade agreements. It's just too bad that our agreements with the U.S. are vulnerable to one man's mood.

Just got diagnosed with probable cough induced asthma today. The diagnosis sucks but maybe something cam be done about my extremely long coughs/colds.

My mum has had this for over ten years. The inhalers worked great for her in the past but her GP has taken those off her and prescribed a new one that is making her cough much worse! Apparently the old ones which everyone has been using for decades can cause cancer!

The coughing seems to be much worse in cold weather.

For me it is likely a form of occupational asthma. I used to work as a mixer in a bakery and that is when the problems started. My colds used to be normal but since working at a bakery they last 3-6 months. I'm just grateful that it seems to be triggered by colds and not all the time. If I can avoid getting colds/coughs then things are pretty normal for me.

If the asthma medication can reduce the length of my coughs then all is well.

Well I have to say that after the first night after taking steroids and my puffer, they really helped. My cough didn't just stop but it was greatly reduced.

I talked with my endo last week and he wants to switch me to cream, he doesn't like the fact that tablets can cause blood clots. Especially with my family history of stroke he is doubly concerned. Also he said that he will only prescribe progesterone for 1 more year. Apparently progesterone did help a bit, it's hard to notice but when I wear a bra with some padding it feels like I have breast forms on.

I go and see the breathing specialist on the 14th and honestly as much as I prefer to reduce medications that I take I am hoping that she puts me on the puffer full time. While on the puffer I can live with my cough but the way it was before the puffer, that put me into a really dark place.

I was supposed to see my orthopedic surgeon a couple of weeks ago but their computer crashed and my appointment got bumped to the 16th. I had hoped to get both of my knees replaced at the same time but I live on the 3rd floor with no elevator so I think I will have to just go with one. I was hoping to get my right knee replaced first as I hope to be moved by the time I can get my other knee replaced. While living where I do I have friends that can help me get to physical therapy  so I can go longer without using my right knee. Unfortunately my left knee is giving me more issues so I think I'll have to get it replaced first.

I hope oh gosh I hope that my mothers final taxes are with the government which means I can get my inheritance after 5 freaking years within the next 2-8 months. Once I get my inheritance I can look at moving down to southern Ontario or at least much closer to Toronto. As I refuse to cross the U.S. border anymore the closest moderately sized city is just over 3 hours away and 7 hours to get anywhere decent, 8 to get to Toronto which is where you can get the biggest variety for food or shopping.

So I got my surgery date for my knee. September 3, I am not looking forward to the physio for 2 reasons. First I live in a third floor walk up and second some of the exercises that I will have to do requires using both knees. I will likely get a January date for surgery on my second knee as it is extremely bad as well.

Back in June I got a cortisone shot in both of my knees and I don't know if it was because of that or if the last of my cartilage in my knees just decided to give up at that time but my knees got significantly worse the last few days of June.

My surgeon looked at my x-rays and told me that I had virtually no cartilage left in my knees and those were taken back in January.

Now it is mainly because of the stairs but I am very reluctant to go anywhere now. When I do go anywhere I try to calculate where I would go that I have to stand the least. Last week I went to Walmart which I am normally reluctant to do now and my right knee almost gave out and I nearly dropped to the floor.

The main reason why I try to avoid Walmart now is because if you aren't waiting 10 minutes for a cashier then they have too many staff on duty or at least that is what it seems like. I very much try to avoid self checkout because I don't want to make it easier for a major corporation to cut staff while making record profit.

I just hope I get improvement when these surgeries are finally done. Honestly I am more afraid of knee replacement than I was for grs.

Before replacement he could walk half-hearted with severe limp and pain, due to osteoarthritis. One week after replacement he was walking almost without pain and a few weeks later it was "like new".

Can you try WalMart Plus?  There has been a half price ($49 for the first year) promotion and that lets you have shipping at no additional charge with no minimum.  Local Delivery options would amount only to a tip if you spend $35 or more on a single order.

Or maybe use Amazon or the grocer?

I have been relying on Instacart for heavy stuff for a while now, I'm just going to have to rely on them more until my knee heals from surgery. Hopefully my first knee will recover fairly quickly and I'll have more support especially when I am standing still which seems to make things worse.

I am going to be on heavy pain killers for the first 6 weeks. I'm not overly happy with being on opiates for that long but I am hoping that I will be able keep those to a minimum. My surgeon for my gal bladder surgery was surprised at how little pain killers I took so I am hopeful that I might be able to keep it to a minimum.
