This real-life example cited in the Health Equality Index report uncovers lack of equal rights for members of the GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender) community. The Healthcare Equality Index (HEI), a joint project with the Human Rights Campaign Foundation and the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association (GLMA), provides a quality indicator for healthcare related to GLBT people.
