Hi Charlotte,

I really hope that you can get it sorted. The Gatekeeper situation does totally suck doesn't it?

One of the degree offices has confirmed the situation legally:

"Thank you for your email and for providing the supporting documentation.
Please note that it is not normally possible to amend a name retrospectively after course completion, except in cases of administrative error or in accordance with the Transgender Policy and Guidance.
As your name change falls under the latter category, we can update your record.
When we do so, we can also amend your title and gender. Please confirm whether you would like these details updated at the same time and specify the title you wish to be recorded.
Once your record has been updated, we will notify the relevant teams — your college, your former department, the Alumni Office, and the Degree Conferrals team. The Alumni Office will also be given your updated email address. These notifications will be marked strictly confidential, and recipients will be instructed to delete them once their records have been updated.
Please could you confirm that you consent to these notifications being sent?"

I also had an interesting situation from my GP surgery on Friday.

They would have gone ahead with switching me from gels to patches without reference to the Centre for Transgender Health.

As I understand it they would do this because they have received my Gender Recognition Certificate and have changed all my records, with the protected legal status. In other words, they now treat me as a woman not as a transgendered woman. Interesting!

The VA did something similar for me. Once my Endo wrote the letter for gender change, they updated my medical records. Before that, my hormone prescription labels read: "For Gender Transition". After that, they now read: "For Hormone Replacement Therapy".

Wow such a busy little thread this one, first of all HNY all xxx
Secondly, yes I changed all my uni certificates but they couldnt change my first HND/degree from Cov Poly as it was a CNNA degree and they closed down a long time ago so that is still in my old name. Pity.
Anyway it great to hear you all busy busy getting on with your lives.
Keep the fight ladies!!!!

Hi everyone,

I finally received the last of my certificates today so that's the complete suite: Birth certificate, GRC, Degree certificates, Passport, and Driving Licence.

I've a few old name documents leftover and I'm not really sure what to do with them. I might park them in a locked box with a friend or something?

This reminds me I still need to change my driving license. But it's archaic I got to get a paper form from the post office and then pay with a cheque or postal order! Ive not had a cheque book in 20 years! One day I might change it.

I have managed to get my degree certificate. The rest it's too much effort to be bothered with.
