Hiya Nicole,

Welcome aboard! Nice to have you along for the journey.

Welcome, happy your here.

Dear Nicole,

First — welcome. I am so incredibly glad you found your way here.

Forty-seven years is a long time to carry the heavy weight of repression. When that egg finally cracks big time, it usually brings a profound mix of exhilaration, relief, and exhaustion. Fighting this for so long takes an enormous toll, and making the decision that it is finally time to let your authentic self breathe is a courageous step. I want you to know — we see that courage.

You will find that many of us here understand exactly what it means to reach this point. We know the unique joy of finally letting go of the repression, and we know the nuances and challenges that come with taking these next steps. You are not starting over. You are catching up to yourself. And that is a very different thing.

The days ahead will bring a lot — excitement, doubt, grief for lost time, euphoria at small discoveries, and probably all of it in the same afternoon. That is normal. That is the egg cracking open and the real you are finally getting a chance to breathe free. Enjoy the feeling! You have earned every bit of it.

You don't have to figure everything out at once, and you certainly don't have to do it alone anymore. Take your time exploring the boards, read through the threads, and jump into conversations whenever you are ready. This is a safe space to ask questions, share your victories, and lean on others when things feel overwhelming. We have been where you are. That is why this place exists.

Welcome home, Nicole! We are so happy to meet you finally.

With love and support,
— Susan 💜

Hi Nicole

My name is Sarah and I would also like to formally, Welcome you to Susan's Place!

I see that other members of Susan's have also welcomed you as well.

Cracking the egg after so many years can bring a flood of emotions all at once, relief, excitement, exhaustion, grief for lost time and sudden moments of joy.  Susan said it beautifully: you're not starting over, you are catching up to yourself and that really resonates.

It takes real courage to finally let your authentic self breathe, especially after decades of repression.  Many of us here recognise that moment and understand how intense this stage can feel.  Try not to rush yourself or think you have to have everything figured out straight away.  Small steps are fine.

Take some time to browse the boards, read other people's stories and jump into conversations when you are ready.  You will find a wide range of lived experiences here and plenty of people who genuinely understand what this journey looks like.

As Lori mentioned, this is a safe place to ask questions, celebrate wins and lean on others when things feel overwhelming.  You don't have to do this alone anymore.

Once you feel comfortable here, it would be appreciated if you add a little bit more about yourself in the other forums and threads.  I would appreciate it very much as, I'm always interested in learning something new about new members.

In addition members of Susan's will more than likely discuss problems or issues that are similar to yours as most have experienced these issues as well.

Please keep in mind when posting that this is an ALL AGES PUBLIC Forum and the internet never forgets.  Do not post anything that you do not want to be made public.

Glad you're here, Nicole.  Wishing you steadiness, clarity and kindness toward yourself as you move forward.  Take care and all the best for the future.

Once again, Welcome to Susan's Place!

Best Wishes Always

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.
