We leave Torremolinos tomorrow and drive back to Seville then we fly back to NYC. What's crazy is that it's hotter in New York than southern Spain.

It's expected to be 92 degrees by Wednesday (34 Celsius)!

Quote from: Emma1017 on May 08, 2025, 09:38:57 PMI keep it simple for the kids, I use my male name but that is ok because, as you have helped me understand Sephirah, I have always been Emma.  That is what I needed to learn.  That is the smile they see.  That is the smile I feel and the one you all know.

It's the one I share with people I care about.

Jess I feel more like a convertible lately...😁

I love your posts about the intersection of your gender and working in a school. I've been an educator for most of my life, though left the classroom 12 years ago for a position supporting teachers.

I too am figuring out names. I'm working on breaking down the barrier that made me Krista only in queer spaces. I had my first professional meeting as Krista yesterday, supporting a trans teen with their rights on overnight field trips.

I do planetarium and outdoor education sometimes, using my male name. But I'm dressing as Krista. Sometimes I think I'm confusing not only myself, but others, too.

Finally, I love that you gave the kids a way forward on a prom. Our local LGBTQ+ center does one. Very small, low-budget, and very meaningful to the students. You are a gift to your students of all genders and to your community!

Emma,

Have a great rest of your trip!

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Krista it is great that you are there for the kids. They need to feel that support every way they can can get it!

When it comes up,I tell them I am transgender and, not only do they accept it, it's less an issue for them than for me.

Thanks Chrissy.  Last night, red wine and paella!!!

Totally and completely innocent. Ignore the scuff marks and duct tape on the halo. It's... um... a fashion statement. I call it Angelpunk. :P ;)
