Back in DC now! My God, Provincetown was amazing! I loved it! There are so many things I didn't get to, but the things I did were awesome! And really, the best part of all was just being somewhere with so many fabulous and accepting people! This was the first time I have ever had the opportunity of just dressing, acting and living the way I want without fear of judgment, and I loved it. I hope to be able to go again in October for Trans Week and the Halloween Tea Dance, if I can. If only lodging weren't so expensive, but I will try to make it work.
Does anyone have any suggestions for lower-cost places to stay? I was in the 500 block of Commercial Street this time, on the east side of town, easily walkable to the town center. Has anyone found that it's cheaper to stay a little farther away from Provincetown? Do you still find this accepting atmosphere farther away, like in Truro?
One of the highlights was the whale tour. There were so many whales around the boat. It was amazing to see these magnificent giants in their rightful place. The tour guide did say it was unusual to see so many, though. Here is a video I took of them:
