As the midterms approach, a new poll from CNN reveals the issues about which voters are most concerned – and trans people aren't one of them. In fact, voters said they were more concerned about every other issue.

The poll first highlighted the president's abysmal approval ratings: 67% of respondents said they disapprove of the job he's doing, compared with 33% who approve. This is worse than halfway through his first term, when 36% approved, 58% disapproved, and 6% had no opinion. A whopping 73% of respondents disapprove of Trump's handling of the economy this year, compared with 44% disapproval in 2018.

This is notable because the poll also found that 93% of registered voters rank the economy as "extremely important" or "very important" in influencing their vote. The poll also found that voters now trust Democrats more than Republicans on the economy.

In comparison, only 46% of respondents ranked trans issues as "extremely important" or "very important," the lowest of any of the 12 issues that CNN asked about. 54% said trans issues are moderately important or not that important.

Voters are far more concerned about every other issue the survey asked about, including building AI data centers, which 64% of respondents said was "extremely" or "very" important, and tariffs, with 69% ranking them as "extremely" or "very" important. 80% said the same about the war in Iran; 86% said so about voting rights and election integrity; 89% ranked inflation as such; 85% said the same about healthcare; and 80% about immigration.

Despite these numbers, Republicans continue to center trans issues in their campaigns, attacking their opponents for supporting trans rights and lying about Democrats' plans to secretly let kids transition without their parents' knowledge.
