First and foremost, I am a 'trans' identified person. 'Trans' in this context is loosely defined as someone whose gender identity is inconsistent with the gender they were assigned at birth. Our learning institution is taking initiatives to become a more 'trans-friendly' place but they are slow and met with many bureaucratic road blocks.
