Mineral vs liquid makeup

 Hi All

I have reactions to liquid foundations; typical, god makes me a woman with facial hair and the makes me allergic to foundation I've been trying some of the mineral foundations, anyone come across a good one?
I've tried Nude which was OK but no were as good as good coverage as the liquids. Any hints, yes I'm being lasered but it takes time.

Try Clinique as well.  They are known for their hypoallergenic products.  I don't have any allergies to any foundations, but I like to put a little liquid foundation on the areas with the most needs and then brush mineral foundation over the whole face. I really do like the look of the mineral foundations.

You really need to try a bunch of different products.  Also, check out some less expensive product lines which are hypoallergenic.  I'm sure there are some, I just don't know for sure about them.

They have a choice of coverage from light to intensive and have the best range of colors. They also make little samplers for you to try.

For even more coverage mix it with water or rub your face with a little jojoba oil before applying.

You also might try Max (Max Factor ) pan stick.  I also use Almay Nearly naked powder.

Cindy, also try a really good shaver.  My boyfriend uses a panasonic electric one and his face feels like a baby's after he's done. I think it's also better for the skin.  Do you plan to get any permanent hair removal in the future?

I've only tried a few brands... Mostly stuff from a bag of make up my X-GF gave me a couple of years ago before she left

So far I've liked the Clinique stuff best... Very comfortable to wear and doesn't have any weird smell or taste... I'm dreading having to buy more when my supplies run low though

Something I've learned also is when you use powder make up is to hold your breath and turn a fan on so your not breathing a cloud of powder during application

LOL... Truly you you don't want to put the powder directly in the fan  You just want enough of a lite air flow so it pulls the cloud away

Virginia Marie -- what brand do you use? How do you apply it?  The brands I use are on the moist side, not so dry and powdery.  I usually dip my big brush in and then tap the excess off and there really isn't a powdery cloud at all.  I'm also really cheap so I really do tap a lot off  so there's no cloud at all!

I use the Maybelline brand (cheap!), but it seems to work fine.

The thing is, It doesn't really matter what brand... They all do it

It isn't a highly visible cloud and is not generally noticeable because it is made up of fine particles that build up in your lungs over time

I'm not saying be afraid or don't use it... I'm just suggesting to have a lite airflow going to draw the fine particles away so you're not breathing it

I guess I just can't imagine using a fan. I don't see any dust or clouds when I apply.
I thought the mineral stuff was not dangerous to inhale?  Not that I feel that I am inhaling anything.  This is just really weird to me.

Does anyone else feel the need to use a fan?

I use Estee Lauder.  The stuff can be expensive, but it's the only make-up I've tried that doesn't cause me to break out.

I hated BE, the colors are weird and it looks too sparkly. Not to mention the itch factor.

And my personal fave prod is there Velvet Touch foundation primer.... gawd tis good but tis pricey...

Virginia Marie -- Clinique is a good bet.  I'm sure you're right in being as cautious as possible about breathing in anything foreign.  I'm just not that health-conscious, I guess.
