getting a men's suit

Hii
So I haven't posted here before, but tomorrow I am going to get fitted for a suit with a friend of mine.
And my friend is aware that I'm trans but should I inform the lady at the store about this?
There aren't any changing rooms there so she is going to notice that I am wearing a binder.

Ooh, good luck with choosing a suit! I wouldn't tell the store assistant you're trans unless you're sure she will react OK. You could always tell her your binder is a back brace, or something like that?

I would wear an undershirt over the binder and not take it off.

Interesting ... I guess I'm lucky. Not only do I know some of the tailors at a local tailor shop, but they're both gay/gayfriendly/transOK ... and then ... one of my friends mothers owns a dry cleaner/tailor shop ... and .. even though we've never met ... she seems to like me a lot. So I guess I never thought about how awkward it could be for some one else to get fitted ... :-/

When you get fitted you will be wearing a shirt (unless you are getting fitted for shirts as well) so putting an undershirt on over your binder should be fine. Usually you want to be wearing a dress shirt when getting fitted to ensure the proper fit including sleeve length. Just be aware that the person fitting you might ask how you "dress" (which side your penis hangs on) before measuring your inseam. Not a big deal there they just don't want to touch it so they measure on the opposite side. Good luck on finding a suit!

Thanks for everyone's responses. Everything went fine I just wore a undershirt over my binder.

I hope you don't mind if I post a question. I got a cheap suit. It was the smallest one I could find. I decided to get it anyways even though it looks a little big on me. So now I'm going to take it to get it altered. Got any suggestions about what to do for that? I pass pretty well except for my voice (though sometimes it doesn't hinder passing). I'm just not sure how to go about getting it altered and whatnot.
Every day brings me one step closer to being myself.
