1st day of the rest of my life

Well, I had been staring for the last 2 days at my brand new, treasured bottle of T that I was very excited to get.  It was a huge tease it was....  I had to wait until today because here locally there is a shot clinic and they will administer the shot and/or show you how plus they are a needle exchange so reduces my cost a lot.  My g/f and I went there and she was present to watch and also get information so she could administer it in the future with a few more lessons. 

Everybody there was so cool and honestly they were way more excited then I was about my 1st shot.  I am not scared of needles but I don't really care for them either.  I have to admit I did not feel the needle at all. I did not feel the shot at all till it was done and I got the small little knot or whatever you want to call it because of the thickness of the T. 

I need to learn to do it myself in the thigh one day, just not sure I can build up the courage to stick myself.  I just worry that if I travel, I will miss a week because of it if I don't.

Anyway, it's nice to finally take the first step and no longer after 15+ years say I am pre-t anymore.  Now comes the game of hurry up and wait, and what affects will surface first.  🙂

Awesome man, congrats. I'd like to be on T & on the road to transition myself, but yeah, I've always hated needles too.

sweet, congratulations! I'm the same way..I get so queasy even if someone is telling a story about blood/needles/etc.  Surprisingly, I was ok getting my forearm tattoo - I have no idea what is gonna happen with getting T shots/top surgery - "no pain, no gain" --right?  😛 kidding. 
Last year, this girl in my drawing class was getting a tattoo and she told the artist doing her tattoo that she eventually wanted to give tattoos... so then, he made her actually do a portion of her own tattoo! crazy ->-bleeped-<-, I would not be able to do that.

Try not to psych yourself out about it and think of something gruesome so that in comparison, doing the shot yourself will be no biggie.

Haha right, I have a few tatts and have no problem getting them. Except I can't watch it being done or I'll get sick & nauseous. It's the same with getting shots or blood drawn. I can't look at it being done.

I have no problem with others giving me shots or tats.  I have a few tats myself. I don't even care if I watch.  I typically end up laughing because when they draw blood they can't find my veins so it's almost a sick joke with me now.  But me sticking myself...that bothers me.

I was kind of freaked my first time giving myself the needle which was in the doctors office but once it was in I was like "pft that was nothing".  My first time on my own was more worrisome like if I screwed up so I turned on some music and sang along to something encouraging. Now I hardly blink an eye when I give myself needles, no more music needed either, or horrible post T singing. 😛 All the nurses love me when I'm at the hospital because I'm so helpful with them taking my blood and I watch and give them a laugh because my fascination has become like it was when I was a kid and got a really cool looking scratch on my knee. Best part is they think I'm so innocent they don't notice when they walk away I'm checking them out. Haha.

Anyways good luck with the step to self injecting. It's nerve racking but it feels good to have overcome that barrier, to have finally concurred it. I mean unless you have an extremely severe needle phobia, you should be fine. 🙂
