I thought it would be a good place to share ideas for clothing.


Shirts and tee shirts with round neck collars always look masculine to me.   


V necks should be trimmed thin not thick unless the trim is the same color as the shirt.  The v also should go deep to the cleavage.






If you have collar bones that show,  most cis I know try to show them off.   Boat necked shirts are great for this.




Shirts with a bit of spandex in them really look great on most figures.  Boat necked long sleeved sweaters with mini skirts give a quirky look that is sexy without being ty.  You cover up most of the top and work the legs.




I also used to wear turtleneck shirts upside down for a long time.  The neck of the shirt goes around your waist and then the bottom you can roll down like an off the shoulder drape.  I used to be very flat chested and I'd use this to give me an illusion of more curves.

Dropped waist skirts are really good for creating an illusion of broad hips.  Especially if you wear them with long shirts.

The Indian style skirts are good for this,  they drop at the waist where most cisgender women want to look skinny,  then poof over the hips and this creates a curve.   So if you are slim this is a really nice look.


This isn't a very pretty skirt but it gives you an idea of what I mean.  The skirt is dropped and flairs just at the hip line.  Pleats and ruffles can give the illusion of curves.



Many tall women have a hard time if they are short waisted with long legs.   If you aren't super skinny you wind up looking pregnant.   Michelle Obama has a terrible time with this.  She always looks like a big little girl in her dresses

A better style for her would be to have her use a long tank style dress that doesn't bloom out until below her hips



Notice her arms are usually on display because she's got incredible arms.   I pointed this out in another thread.   Usually cis women will show off their arms if they have nice upper arms.   Think Jennifer Aniston



The long length tanks also look great.   


Jeans that cup your butt are another way to go.  If you have a nice tush  then show it off.   If you have a flat stomach then wearing low cut jeans and a boat cut top with 3/4 sleeves is a way of working your asset while creating a feminine profile.

This is a nice idea for a thread, Mixie. I've dealt with a number of the issues you mention. I like the drop waisted skirt idea, but if you are long waisted like me a long top with it isn't wise. I tend to go for high waist looks. This means usually wearing a wide belt with a dress and avoiding hip hugger styles. I also equalize my long waistedness by wearing high heels, making my legs look proportionally longer-- especially with pants/jeans.

You're right about Jen Aniston's arms. I'd say the same about her legs, too. She has excellent style advisers and always looks amazing. She makes a good style model when putting together an outfit (Google Image search "Jennifer Aniston fashion" for endless inspiration). I often recommend choosing a celeb with style you like, esp. if she resembles you as a base for creating you own looks.

Well Angelina Jolie doesn't seem to be doing very well.  I don't think she has a stylist or a PR person.  But WINK!

She made $30million last year, second only to Sara J. Parker - so what exactly is not working for her?  Could be that's exactly the image she wants to project.  Kind like the little nerd and geek boys who dress up in their Halloween outfits to be in metal bands.

I so want to get out of factory jobs. My wardrobe consists of 3 pairs of pants and an endless amount of t-shirts. Not by choice either.

One of my key rules of fasion is: If you can do it, you should, but its' also a cornorstone of my fashion world that Not Everyone Can Rock The Cat Woman, if you know what I mean.

Like pleated skirts.  Which are great.  But at some point, 30?, 40?, 50? they do stop being 'cute' and start being wrong, if not weird.

I have found that A-Line skirts do wonders for my figure. The best are ones with really tight thick elastic waistbands that pull you in a bit too (which is covered under a shirt).

It depends on the leggings because they come in various lengths    If they are open at the end they are most likely made to set about the ankle or the
calf muscle

Stockings/nylons/tights tend to be designed to cover the feet as well    Hope that helps

leggins are not suppose to cover the feet....if they did they would be called tights.  But tights can be footless. Footless tights are a lot thinner than leggings.

A lot of girls (me included) wear leggings with shorter skirts or with a long sweater. Some girls wear leggings without anything to cover their waistline....which looks kinda weird to me as they have the same shapeness as tights. To me, it's like putting a pair of tights on and forgetting about the skirt. It's kind of a fashion faux pas to do that and in my opinion, only the best athletically fit girls can kind of pull it off.....KIND OF lol.
