Good post Sephirah. I just think you should love yourself as much as possible and stop giving a squirrle. I have had so many overdoses and I stand up for myself. I hope you're ok.

You're welcome. :) Sorry, I haven't been back to this for quite a long time. I might need to have a look over it and see if there's anything else to add.

I would of loved to love myself...Half a century ago. But I'm coming around. In the process I'm realising not everyone is out to get me.

Lauren,

I love this, it's so timely and deeply relevant, especially given the current political climate in both the US and the UK.

I believe many in our community could benefit from your words.

It's unfortunate that this conversation ended up buried so far down, so here's a little bump to help bring it back into the light where it belongs.

Thank you so much for writing this.

Thank you, Lilis.

I keep the link in my signature now because I was sick of having to keep finding the thread, lol. It was sticky at one point. I think I abused my power to make it that way lol. Evil overlady... muahahahahha. >:-)

People will always have to deal with this, and it helps having tools and ways to cope with stuff. :)

Thanks, Lilis, for uncovering this thread. And Sephirah for such a beautiful analysis of low self-esteem. Like many who responded, I tend at times to beat myself up. And I have made some really bad mistakes and poor decisions worthy of self-flagellation. I've been a guest of Susan's for about three months. Now, I seldom take the cat-o-nine-tails out of the closet.

Bumping this thread again Lauren. It's an excellent guide to the effects and causes of low self esteem and a very useful self help guide to try to overcome it which any newcomers affected with this may find very helpful. I know I have. I suffer with very low self esteem, I'm pretty much rock bottom in the esteem stakes right now so the only way is up for me.

It takes some time to run through the exercises but they are worth doing if you think you might be affected by this issue.

Now I will have to try to put it into action.

This thread shows you have been the resident self help Guru and all round positivity machine for over a decade! Thank you.
