Uh-huh. Now you played your cards. You are crazy if you think HRT didn't change your face  :P

It's ok though I know it's easy to be crazy. :)

a.) Seconding this soooo much. Kelly you pass like a charm.

b.) Considering one of the other threads, Girl you look Fierce, you're not much better with that craziness  ;) . Both of you easily pass as natal females, and make me rather envious. :)

@jess42 and ladysophia: I'm sorry I can't really say as I would need to see some better pictures.

And kelly I guess I can kinda sorta maybe see what you are talking about when you say you are at best androgynous. Maybe. But at worst (and I'm tying hard to see it) you are androgynously cis female. I simply can't see you as a guy ever. at all.

Johanna, the kick in the but is, sometimes I think I do and sometimes I think I don't. The friends I am out to tell me I can but am lacking confidence still. I don't take pictures very well, no matter what I try to look like, I just come up ugly. This is guy mode and female mode. Damn, you should see my driver's license, that even scares me sometimes. When I look in the mirror though in makeup, I think wow, I'd date her but when I see that same face in a picture, I think what an ugly cow.

I feel ya. I have the same problem except I think I look ugly in the mirror and pictures. Pre-HRT people said I was cute and adorable. I don't see what they see. I don't see it at all. Some cute guy was kinda flirting with me the other day but I could be mistaken and he was just being nice. I'm probably uglier as a girl then as a guy. IDK. I'll prob always think I look hideous no matter what. It's hard to even do my makeup cause I think what's the point it's like putting lipstick on a pig.

I don't know but this is just me, I don't really see people as being ugly and pretty/ handsome. I would far rather have a stimulating intellegent conversation with somone than I would sleeping with the most gorgeous or handsom person on the planet. I think we are all unique and attractive in different ways. Some physically and some mentally and niether one more important than the other.

Me too, probably has more to do with maturity level though. When I was young I was all into the pretty wrappings and not as concerned about what's inside, that has flip-flopped through real life experience. I'd much rather be with someone my intellectual equal, who enjoys conversing about varied things, someone I can really connect with on that level and be friends with prior to anything deeper on an emotional or physical level. I've come to hate superficiality, ego-centricity and have a short fuze for any BS or drama.

So the other day I passed and I don't have any idea why. Everyone called me she and it was great. But I do not understand it at all. I don't even think I look androgynous. My face is all square. I look 100 percent male. Am I crazy? So what do you think? Why did I pass? They must have been on crack. ***Please don't quote***

It could be any number of things that helped you pass, Joanna. Perhaps it was the way you carried yourself, or the quality of your voice. I think your face looks quite feminine though, and in the second photo you look really nice!

You're focussing on just your face when it's the whole picture that matters. Even if your face looks androgynous or ambiguous, the rest of you may tip that balance into the female. And you know that you have a head start with your body. I've seen many women with such hair style. Your cheeks look fuller in the photos.

Nose is totally femme. Prominent cheeks. Narrow chin. I think your face is very feminine.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

I think that the maturity level has a lot to do with it myself. That's all we hear when we a re young is about judging what's inside the book and not what's on the cover. But how many of our youngerselves actually did  that or doing it now.

@girl you look fierce, you really need to change that over to "girl you look beautiful". Because you are. I pretty much believe we on here are all in agreement on that. Don't doubt yourself, your mind will play tricks on you. Keep telling yourself you are beautiful young woman and eventually that will reflect through the mirror into your own eyes.

@joanna. You look female to me. As a matter of fact, you look somewhat like a cis female that Works at a receptionists desk at a company that I do business with from time to time. I hope you have a better attitude though because she is about the most unfriendly person I think I have ever come across, and believe me I come across a lot.

Really though, how important is passing. I know for our younger counterparts it is extrememly important. I would like to be able to pass too, but far more important to me is to try to be happy with myself. Hell in guy mode I pass as transgender. ??? I just don't have the courage yet to be totally out and honest with my therapist and I admire each and everyone of you for the courage that you have. I am slowly gaining some though and the more I talk to you girls and guys on this sight the more comfortable I feel and the courage builds.

My cheeks have def gotten fuller. I agree it is a whole package type deal and I am quite blessed body-wise. If someone looked at my body and only my body, I would never ever be able to pass a guy. Well, except for obvious reasons. But I plan snip that problem in the bud sooner or later. Thanks!

I'm not sure if I carry myself differently or not. I def don't stop myself if I see I'm behaving in a certain way whereas before I would have. I haven't worked on my voice and I thought when I opened my mouth it would be a dealbreaker but this one guy asked me if I could speak since he just spoke to some mute woman and he didn't react any differently when I spoke or told him the feminized version of my actual name which is quite commom nowadays. Thanks also for the compliment.

Hope I didn't miss anyone. :-)

Your avatar looks "younger," but no picture looks male.  Nevertheless, make up will help you "pass," just as it help hundreds of millions of women feel more feminine.  No reason to feel insecure.

Jamie, you spoke volumes with that. How many cis men found pamela anderson in the nineties the quentisential female. I once saw her in an article without makeup and boom. Just a normal woman and not really reeking of beauty and in my opinion kinda homely. So don't feel bad girls, pay some big money and find one of the makeup artists of the "stars" and I guarantee they could make arnold shwarsaneger look like a playboy centerfold, facewise anyway.

thanks, Jamie D :)

And Jess: Playboy Centerfold is the last thing i would go for ;)
