Amazon is showing me all women's clothes as suggestions now. They've stopped showing me men's clothes, period. So maybe they got the hint? I watched the entire series of Transparent. Maybe that tipped the scale for them.

Hey, mine is doing that too. I guess between the recent books and workout clothes, they've figured me out, too. It makes me feel a little awkward loading up the site at work...

Me too! Its all female oriented, all the adds and suggestions. The other targeted advertising in my cyber world is leaning that way too! At least the algorithms know I'm a woman!

This was yesterday, but since i was too busy to post then... On Saturday, I had "the talk" with my brother, who I knew would be supportive. I was less certain about his wife, but told him that although I was trying to keep my coming out under wraps at this point, that it was more important to me that the people I did come out to had someone to talk to if they needed it. So I told him that he could decide when and whether or not to tell her about it.

We took a trip to a museum, with his family and me and my kids, yesterday. As we were getting everyone in the car, she told me that he told her. There was a brief moment of silence and she told me that she was absolutely happy for me and that they would be there and give me whatever support I needed. She then invited me for a big hug, which is probably a first between us, and that was that.

So now I'm up to (I think) 6 for 6 of people I'm out to who were awesome and supportive (not counting therapists, doctors, etc). Lucky, lucky, lucky...

Jeni ..... Congrats on the successful coming out, it's always such a euphoric feeling when it goes well. I am very happy for you.

Like Islandgirl ... I am not out to my siblings yet, though it is in the process. I don't live close to any of them (6'ish hours away) and I've been pandering between a written and mailed letter, an email, or just waiting until I see them again which will be at a point in my transition process that I will no longer be able to hide the changes - so it would be a surprise (not leaning toward he surprise route).

A young man I served on the checkouts referred to me as 'love' instead of 'mate' (British terminology). However, he realized his mistake, apologized and quickly corrected himself. Felt nice all the same

This was a few weeks ago but was out with Aunt, Cousin and Mom going prom dress shopping for my cousin. While at one of the stores I was asked if I needed a prom dress as well! Felt great not only being asked if i needed a dress, but also I graduated 10 years ago!!

That was a big part of my timing. I did not want there to be anything overt to notice before I talked to family. I have some younger siblings from my father's second family (and his wife) who are not aware yet as far as I know. Haven't decided when to let them know but I'm inclined to wait until I'm closer to being out to everyone.

Good luck with your decision. I strongly prefer in person with people I am confident will be supportive. Haven't really dealt with any other cases yet, though.

I've been getting that for a while now too.  Maybe it was strictly buying dresses and makeup for a few months instead of gun parts and mens watches that did it.

Could be. But I really haven't bought a lot of women's clothes on Amazon, lately the only thing I've bought was a couple of bras. I mostly buy computer networking stuff and household items.

Gun parts? Eh I buy them from the local stores.

I came out to everyone at work yesterday. So last night I was finally free to share myself openly on social media. I made a new profile and dropped the bomb on the old one. The outpouring of support that has carried on at a steady clip is leaving me just stunned. Folks who weren't my facebook friends before, old coworkers and extended family, have apparently heard and have friended me. The cousins I feared would turn their backs on me are right there. Happy isn't quite the word, extatic is more apropos. I never realized that people did care about me. I have lost no one in coming out, I have only gained and I feel like I have gained the world.

After I purged all my clothes and was determined to be a normal man 4 months ago I just (after acknowledging my gender issues and telling my girlfriend all about them) have started ordering clothes online to start building my feminine wardrobe up again. And I forgot how fun the shopping part is I do it all online though and now I must find patience for the stuff to all get here
