Hello folks

8)

Remember me?  (I used to have 2000 posts 'til I went on hiatus.)  Hope everybody's all right.  I've been doing okay.  I discovered a weird new zone in the road to becoming a functional human, which is that I have absolutely no idea how to be one.  I have stepped boldly forth toward freedom, and wandered back again because what the heck am I looking at?

On the other hand, I have discovered that happiness is a real thing.  And that mine (a revolutionary concept indeed) requires three essential elements: There shall be no significant levels either of dysphoria or of post-traumatic stress bs, and the livestock shall be fed and happy.  It is a groundbreaking recipe which I shall endeavor to make use of.

It so happens that the critters are on green grass, and I am, eh, I'm okay.  :P
I remember ewe.  I had wondered what happened.

I'm wondering if I should continue growing my hair out even though it looks girly unless I straighten it and I'm afraid straightening it too often will fry it.
Or if I should cut it. If I do cut it though, I want it to look like this, but I don't know how to make it do that:

Of course, I'll probably look female no matter what I do. #@*$%!

it's so weird to be paying attention to my body in a positive way. changes are really happening now. I like it (duh) but it's also just fascinating. I don't ever remember feeling like that. like my body was something fun and interesting... and saying that maybe something sort of twitch inside. like saying that is sort of scary.

between the abuse and being stuck as female, my body always felt like the enemy or something dangerous.

The positive impact that folk, who you may never speak with or share mail with, can have on your life.  Just reading their posts.  Experiencing their concern.  Benefiting from their advice.   When they are gone and you have not taken the time to acknowledge just how important that they are to you - leaves you empty and railing at your loss and your ingratitude.

My mustache looks like Justin Bieber's. This is a very, very tragic occurrence. Hopefully temporary.

I'm also so happy that things are starting to come together. I was almost losing my s* at the end of May...things managed to almost entirely turn around within 1 month, and the rest is quickly following suit over the summer.

Ok, I caved in and got a Tuxedo body pillow because I finally found one for $45.95.  The ones I had seen beforehand were like $59.99.  I soooo wasn't going to buy one for that price.  It's funny what a difference of around $15 will make.  I'm not tripping too much because I worked late today and I'm working late tomorrow so the money I make then will cover the price.  When I get him, I probably won't even take him out of the plastic.  I'll just sleep on him with the plastic on.  I didn't actually plan on getting one so soon.  When I saw the price, I put it on my watch list.  It was stated that there were limited qualities available.  I figured when it would get down to the last one, THEN I'd make a decision.  I thought it was going to be a while before that happened, but no, when I get home from work and got on Ebay, I found out that 1 was sold in the last hour and that there was only one left, so I made a decision a few minutes late to get it while I was watching an unboxing review of one.  I could have gotten on on circle red, but it would have been about the same with shipping so I just got it on Ebay with the free shipping to make me feel better about myself, lol.  Anyways, I can't wait for it to arrive!  I've been wanting a body pillow for the longest.  I need something to cuddle with.

Free gender therapist? Does it exist? I think I need to speak to someone about my feelings. I can't really afford therapy.

There are some gender therapy groups that will work on a sliding scale based on your limited income or inability to pay due to excessive bills. You should call around and see, it's based on "Ask and you will receive" the converse of that is also true so don't be afraid to ask.

Seattle. But wherever you live there may be some GLBTI or transgender group meetings that take place, contact them and ask around, they will have all the information on what's available locally.

Believe me, we don't have that here locally. The problem is that trans people aren't treated with therapy here, but we have a system similar to the one in the UK.

Oh I understand. Wishing the best for you dear! Meanwhile your affiliation here can be very therapeutic in a sense, don't be afraid to ask questions from your forum group. Life here can be like being on a ladder, each one can reach down and help someone else up to the next rung. It's something some of us do here because we are all in it together regardless of gender issues.
