Why are some threads diverted from their inital topic?

You could design the software to show the theme of the thread to each individual who responds.  Then they could go off on a tangent but at least be reminded of the root of the thread.

and then, if you were evil intelligent enough, and if the person got off topic, you could design the program to send the post to the person's printer and then flip it into their shredder and then tell them that going off topic will not be tolerated.   >:D
