Any family members trans in addition to yourself?

After I stared coming out to my closest relatives, I got a call from one of my cousins, who told me they were so excited to hear I was transitioning and said they had never told anyone, but they felt they were trans too and wanted to transition. My cousin is now a year on T, into it from the other direction as me, FtM.

Hello!  I wonder how common it is for a transperson to have other family members who are trans.  I know of one family where at least 3 or 4 members, closely related, are trans.  I and my niece are MTF trans, and I have a cousin from the other side of the family who is married to an MTF as well, and they have a daughter together.  That's THREE of us, though the latter one is related through marriage and not blood.

First of all, I myself am not transgender as much as an aspiring transfeminine male (Yes, you read that correctly).

Anyway, though, in regards to your question, No, not that I know of.

I recently found out that my father had been caught wearing a bra by my mother. She responded poorly to the event and forced him to stop. I never knew this when he was alive. To what extent he was trans I will never know.

Oh dear my dad was into wearing female clothes that's what my mum said that to me. 😆 and my older sister is a ftm and always wanted to be a male. 😆 💖 I think my mum knew that I was girly and feminine from a young age. my older sister looks like a guy and in a long term relationship with another female. 😆 💖

So... this will get interesting..

When I told my mom, she pretty much told me her dad was at least part time cross dressing.

And recently my two brothers bombarded me with questions, apparently they both have a kid which is suspected of being trans, even tough it is too early to tell. But my nephew looks really good in a tutu dress he likes to wear. My niece does not want to join "team boobs" as she declared... Not sure what will come out of it, could just be a phase or could be early signs. Will be interesting when I see them again later this year...

There are no LGBT people in my family except me. My family is totally dull in that regard. I think it would be cool to have an LGBT family member but no such luck. Once I told my brother it would be really cool to have a gay older brother and could he start dating guys but he said no. Just selfish I guess. Lol

I have a younger sister that identifies lesbian (also married to a great gal, very good to her/him). She's always had boy demeanor and took boy/male roles. If (s)he considered the trans direction, (s)he never outright said it. I believe (s)he is, never having liked any female pronouns for as long as I can remember.

even now I am not sure on her/his preferred pronouns. I should ask.

No other trans people in my family. My sister dated a couple girls in high school, but I'm not sure whether she still identifies as bi or she considers it youthful experimentation. She's married to a man now and I'd feel weird broaching the topic.

Not by blood that I know of, although I was adopted and haven't seen my half brothers and sister in years.  Oddly, my son just assimilated into a family with a trans niece and they accepted me wonderfully.  When I came out to my neighbors suddenly her daughter came out FtM and a brother in a same sex relationship said he wasn't gay, but straight MtF trans.  So it seems we really do walk among the rest of the population, lot of us!  Toni

My husband and I are both trans. He's post-op FtM, and I'm pre-therapy MtF. Our daughter (100% biological) is very much my little girl, so Trans seems to skip generations?

one of my 5 half-sisters (same mother) is FtM trans.

But other than that, the rest of my family is Cis.

An interesting topic.

I've often wondered about my paternal grand mother, I never remember her wearing anything but trousers, something that was considered not quiet right when see was a young woman. My uncle, on his death bed, also intimated that she had a predilection for young woman.

Another interesting story my father related recently was that initially her birth was registered as male. This however was put down to the fact that her father had given the details of her birth to the registrar in the local pub.

And short answer: no. Not even close!

I have a fairly masculine aunt though that I idolized as a child for obvious reasons 
She used to be a tomboy as a child and told me once she wanted to be a boy too when I came out. She has even been mistaken for a man for many times and to my knowledge hasn't objected at all. I have many times contemplated whether she might be trans but just too old to recognize that. She was married to a man though, had children and apparently just is a very masculine woman.
