Susan and I got home around 11:00am this morning, just in time to restart the two grandfather clocks I had stopped at 11:05am the day we left. We covered 4286 miles (6897km) at an average speed of 62mph (100kph), which means we were on the road for about 69 hours. Susan prefers riding shotgun, so I was driving for the entire trip.
We drove through parts of Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee (again), Kentucky, Illinois, Wisconsin, back through Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas (again), then home through Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado. Other than a hotel clerk in Illinois being concerned about two ladies sharing a room with only one bed, no one seemed to care about two ladies travelling together.
We were able to accomplish all of the goals for the trip, except getting enough sleep. I'll post something more detailed in a day or two.
Love always -- Jessica Rose
