Some days transitioning seems such an immense undertaking (because it is!)

I have found that the best reply to comments like that is:

"Are you hitting on me?"

Shuts them up.

I often thought that if transitioning were easy, everyone would do it. It gets tiresome playing the same role year after year. A little variety makes life more interesting.

Being misgendered sucks. It hasn't happened to me for a long time, but that just increases the potential pain if it happens again. Some people simply have no respect for others, and arguing with or responding to insulting queries can often just make it worse. Usually the best response is no response.

If you choose to respond to 'are you a man or a woman?':

Yes (if you are binary)
No  (if you are non-binary)
Are you looking for a date?
Sorry, I already have a partner

That response could work well for most people.  What would you say if the person replied, "Yes!" ?
Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Guess ill keep trying! Each step at a time. Still better than 6 months ago.

The fact that someone who is "homeless" and no disrespect to them, has made such a comment, speaks volumes about them and not about you.

They could be looking at you and might be jealous because you can be the person you want to be and still keep your life together.

They may have mental health issues.

The fact is, you must try to keep your chin up and move forward to live your best life without the insecurities of others pulling you down.

You will get there with the support of those who will help guide you and lift you.

I do feel sorry for many homeless people.  I see them more often in big cities such as Seattle.  I have walked up to some ladies and gave them clothes and towels occasionally.

Some seem to be stoned.  Some believe or not, lay naked in the parks.  Some have scared me.

I am amazed that there are so many of them.  Some actually prefer to live outdoors and not in shelters or even hotel rooms that have been converted for the homeless.

I hope they can improve their lives.  Society has some role in that, and the homeless themselves have some responsibility to lift themselves up.  Some lose their jobs and they get into quite a bind.  It must be a very hard situation to experience.

I am glad there are shelters and food kitchens and other types of aid to help improve their lives.

Chrissy, I think you've found your voice. Even if you never say anything out loud.

People who want to hate... just want to hate. Feel sorry for these people.

I think the kindness, empathy, hopefulness and encouragement is all the voice you ever need.

Above all... remember: you are beautiful, you are valuable, and you have a shining spark of magnificence within you. Don't let anyone take that from you. Embrace who you are. <3
