Quote from: Stottie Girl on February 16, 2026, 05:00:51 PMHave any of you watched the Bone Temple yet? Wondering if it's worth a watch? I enjoyed the previous film, it was weird to see zombies (not zombies) running around my neck of the woods! Normally they're eating Americans!

It wasn't a patch on 28 days later though.

I think the zombies in America died out. They tried to raid our Capitol in Washington DC while the legislature was in session. They couldn't find any brains, so they starved.

Back when I was still watching TV, I enjoyed the Walking Dead series. Generally, I don't care for zombie movies because they always seem to be the same old, same old. This series was better in my opinion.

Also, Brad Pitt in World War Z was a good take on the theme.

The first 3 seasons of The Walking Dead were awesome I must admit, and the first two seasons of Fear The Walking Dead were pretty good too but after that it is unwatchable sadly.

If you haven't seen 28 days later Lori I would urge you to take look as it as it is a different take on zombie genre. Well, they aren't actually zombies as they are infected with a virus. But to all intents and purposes, fast zombies!

28 Days Later is amazing. The first sequel, 28 Weeks Later is... it's okay. The final one in the trilogy, 28 Years Later is... what did I even just watch?

I liked Walking Dead up to... maybe season 5. Then it went downhill badly when they tried to make it into Lord of the Rings with zombies. It recovered somewhat in the last couple of seasons when the writers decided what they actually wanted to do.

Fear The Walking Dead was good for the first few seasons, until Morgan decided to show up and they basically wanted it to be The Walking Dead 2.0. I have seen all the spin-offs, they are largely meh.

If you haven't seen it, one of the better zombie movies is a movie with Arnie Schwarzenegger. But it's not what you think. It's called Maggie. I urge you to watch it. It's very human, and shows that Arnie is more than a one dimensional actor. I really enjoyed it.

Oh, and in a nod to our own @Sarah B, if you want a fantastic Aussie zombie movie, watch Wyrmwood. It's completely bonkers mental. On the flip side, watch a movie called Cargo. It's massively touching. Australia does some really great zombie movies.

Maggie, Cargo and Wyrmwood added to the list then.

Yeah I keep flip flopping about 28 Years later. Not understanding how the infected are suddenly huge like Orcs with superhuman powers. I think as a sequel it's disapointing but as a stand alone it's ok. Think I'll wait for streming for the bone temple.

I have that one. Yes, definitely a different role for Arnie, and he does a great job.

Yeah I kind of didn't like the whole fantasy setting of it. To me, the best zombie movies are your Resident Evil, Racoon City kind of thing. Like Fear The Walking Dead was in the first couple of seasons. When it first happened. If I want people shooting zombies from horseback with bows... like you say, just make it into a fantasy thing.

The "best" part of a zombie apocalypse is when it first happens. Like the first season of "Black Summer" Which itself is a more serious spinoff of "Z Nation". When it gets so far in the future that it's just a part of life... that's when I get bored. It should be abnormal.

I just watched I AM LEGEND (Will Smith). Another take on the zombie virus genre.
Well done, and probably my favorite zombie movie.

While not a true zombie movie, 'Serenity' had the extremely aggressive 'reavers'.

I wanted to like that movie... but the dog scene... no. I can't watch it after that comes up. As a dog person, it just breaks me. It's kind of a weird thing... I don't care too much about people getting killed in zombie movies, you get de-sensitised to it. But when it comes to dogs in any movie... I'm done with it.

I love Serenity. It's a cult classic. Like Firefly. Some things were cut short way before their time.

I loved Serenity, watched that before I had heard of Firefly so watched it in reverse but if you like serenity (and you will) Firefly is a must.

Forgot about Black Summer! You're right the fist season was awesome shame the second was dog poop. Theres talk of a third season I think.
