For all that abhorrent sunlight... the winter months where you live must be absolutely magical. I am sorry I haven't been to your blog in a while, Danielle. The truth is I am extremely envious of where you live, lol. Even though most of the UK is on the same kind of latitude as Alaska, geographically speaking, we have the annoying North Atlantic current keeping us warmer than we should be. We don't have the amazing place you have there. Which makes me sad!

I would move there if I could. Only for the Autumn and Winter months, though. <3 Almost perpetual sunlight would drive me bonkers.

You live in a very, very special place. But then you're a very, very special person so that stands to reason.

How are all of my Forum friends holding up with the HOT TEMPERATURES in many parts of the county???
Stay cool if you can.

Not a problem where I live, the low early this morning was 47 deg (f) and late this afternoon
the high was 61 deg(f) .... partly cloudy.

No Air Conditioning needed.

Yes, I really liked the  Pink Cup  and your  "birds" shirt. 

When I get my coffee at the next door coffee shop to my office, the Barista always
puts a PINK LID on the cup...

7+ years ago, when I first started my business there
she had ordered the pink lids just for me... I was the very first transwoman she
had ever met. 
     

Regarding PINK CUPS and many things that are pink, I try to collect as many

My Blog Update - August 30, 2025 - Early Winter weather

The nighttime temperatures this last week have been unusually cool with light snow showers
leaving some snow cover on the my lawn and driveway when I wake up in the morning... 
...usually this does not happen until the middle to end of September or the start of October.

This could be the signal of a very cold and long Alaskan winter to come...
...but I am well prepared with a full food pantry, full propane tanks for my furnace, and
my vehicle is already winterized with winter tires I just installed last week.

I'm glad that you stay prepared. I realize that you need to up yonder ways, but I'm sure that some don't. Early Winter never sounds good to me.

I'm not ready for the "S-word" yet. I'll take our 80s this week. Ooh, look, we could hit 90 on Wednesday.

September 15, 2025  Monday

This early morning was cold ...
        29 degrees(f)  and later today it barely got up to 40 degrees(f)
Summer is definitely appearing to be over early and winter is around the corner. 
        Snow is expected next week.

I wore my warmer clothes today and kept nice and toasty.

Busy day at my office, lots of client appointments.... then after work I had
one of my office gals and also my Toothfairy to my home for dinner.

After dinner we took our coffee into my living room and sat in front of my fireplace
and warmed our legs and feet..... toasty toes !!!

I love warming myself by a fire.

Here in Southern Colorado, we are getting cooler mornings around the mid-50s. Then the afternoons are around the mid-80s. That is cooler than it has been lately. We had record high temperatures in the month of August and record rainfall. We are definitely heading into Fall, and maybe by the end of the month, the aspens will be starting to change color.

I plan to take advantage of the nicer weather and get outside to do some prospecting. I was going to go this week, but we have rain coming in. Next week is full of VA appointments, so maybe by the time I get out, the aspens will give me a nice show of color.

I crashed out all day after my weekend at the Hot Rod drags (a Fri to Sun of drag racing and hot rods) , had to turn the heating on as it went very cold with the 60+mph wind.

We run a 24-hour help line and shelters and counseling for both adult and child victims. We also have educational programs to help prevent domestic violence from happening in the first place.

Last week I had to make an unplanned trip to Anchorage, so instead of driving
the 6 or 7 hour each way journey, a bush pilot that is a regular at the next door coffee shop
offered to fly me there and back.  He heard about my planned trip, and had planned to be
there for a day, and wanted company on the flight. Roughly a little less than 2 hours each way. 

Before we flew back home I bought him a nice dinner in Anchorage.

It is nice to be nice to people that you meet...  usually they are nice in return.
