Was close racing today, my mates lad got to the final of Pro ET but broke out (went faster than his dial in time). Its gone muggy, I am perspiring a lot (ladies dont sweat!), much too hot for me as I feel wiped out.

Its still 28C in my living room this morning, making an early start to try and beat the heat and do a bit more welding. Right eye is sore this morning, spent too long watching the racing on my laptop and over strained it. That is the one I had several attacks of cold sore virus in that has scarred the lens and left it weak, need new glasses as well with stronger lenses.
Change of plan, I am too hot already so another home day!! Cooler tomorrow and over the weekend so hope to catch up then and it will give my eye a chance to recover as welding does it no good.

Really? It was 15C and overcast today for me. Quite pleasant really 🤣

D said it got to 40C on Tues, still supposed to be 28C today so I have a nice Seasalt dress to wear out shopping. Bit of a cooling breeze at the moment. Not sure what to get for dinner again, might defrost 2 steaks just for a change. Also I could make some Kofta as I have lamb mince frozen. Thats Indian meat balls cooked in a yogurt sauce, not made them for ages.
We had a cracker (literally) of a thunder storm last night, at one point I think there was 3 strikes per second. It lasted over an hour before it moved away and I could get back to sleep, I looked out the window but no bolts to see just very bright flashes.

Sounds like quite the storm Davina. Hopefully it will break the heat. I was surprised to read on the news that most homes in the UK do not have AC. Here in the states it is an almost given, to have it.

@Gina P ACs were not really needed in the mid/northern parts of Europe in the past, but thanks to climate change it becomes more common.

In Spain we are going through a heat wave with 30+ºC during the day and 15ªC during the night. It is getting complicated to have a good rest and to work without A/C.
I work from home an live in the mountain area in the center of Spain and never, during my childhood, I would have thought to have AC at home.
During the last 8 years, the house has been updated to withstand these heat waves. Just last week I got AC in my office (at the top of the house) and...just in time.

Let me ask for advice...With the heat, I am really enjoying short and mini skirts, but then chair sticks in the parts that I don't have fabric...so I have ended up using a midi skirt, which is fresh and avoids me getting stuck. I have been thinking in putting a towel and continue with mini skirts...but, anyone has any other idea?

TBH I find a midi or long skirt keeps you cooler than shorts or a mini skirt as long as its light material and flowing. I bought a steak and ale pie for dinner, it was reduced with todays use by date. I just hope the dried powders used in it are okay for my digestion.
Bit of a breeze this afternoon, cooling my rooms down with all the windows open and cloud keeping temps down as well.

I wear short skirts and crop tops to avoid using the expensive AC during the summer.  The electric bill peaked out at $55 which is less than the $70 when I was washing a lot of clothes during the winter. Connecticut is a very expensive place to use electricity.

I use a towel on the chair as well as using chairs that have a fabric or mesh instead of a solid surface.

A good breeze is nice to enjoy.  Unless it gets too strong and your hair gets all messed up!

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. I wear the boho style maxi skirts in a lined chifron material and elasticated waist. They are so comfy and feel amazing on shaved legs! Pair that with a camisole top or scoop neck t shirt and I'm set. So much more comfortable than male clothing. When the skirt flaps about in the breeze it's lovely and cooling and I love the boho hippy chick look. I wear wedge heeled sandles, sandshoes or sketchers slip ons with it.

I would love to wear a flowery summer tea dress but I'm not sure I have the figure just yet.

Thank you all very much for all your advice. 🩷
I threw some skirts at the end of last summer season and I am regretting it now.
I already have on the way a couple of boho skirts...

Forgot to say yesterday when shopping this lad was walking down the aisle with his head in his phone and headphones on and folks had to get out his way. As he went past I said get your head out your phone and watch where your walking, must have worked as a bit later he had put the phone away!! Just plain ignorant on his behalf I think.

Had to jump start the Austin, knew I should have taken battery lead off. Went for a 12 mile drive to charge battery but still had to jump it again to drive to the pub, daft thing is it started okay when I left. It was hot (28)C so had to go and sit inside a few times, Deb had a cider. Told her not to and 3 ciders later she will have to have a lift home. Anyways a good afternoon, got to sit with mum for a good while as well. She gave me some broad beans from her garden, might be nice with that rump steak. Koftas cooking, they can sit in the fridge for a few days.No problem with folks at the pub, a lot of the ladies smiled at me.
