Still a breeze and some cloud so its okay today, had a messing about day doing lots of little jobs on the Herferod. Still they needed doing, heater from a MK1 Cortina turned up so tomorrow I will see what I have to do to make it fit. (sounds of grinder, hammering and cursing!)

Well I was going to watch the F1 sprint race live but its on at 11am, I will watch it later on catch up. The parcel delivery person brought that heater all the way up stairs ,its a big box so I unpacked it. No way I could carry that down as have to hold bannister to help my balance on my duff leg. I can hold it in my right hand as it has a good bracket, now I have a large box to get rid off!!
 Cool and cloudy this morning, better for working. Will need brain power today working out how to fit this heater.

Do you ever work on cars that are NOT "street legal"?

Would they be "kit cars" or maybe those specially made for racing?

I hear that some people use the James Bond type of revolving license plates.

That is, they push a button to select what license plate appears.  Have you ever seen that in real life?  Clearly illegal of course but sounds so techy cool.  I think some people do that to try to avoid getting a highway toll fee.

Then there are others who use some kind of license plate cover to try to avoid toll cameras from capturing a clear image of their license plates.

It is amazing what some people do to avoid their responsibility although there are so many fees nowadays.  I would not use either device and simply avoid the toll routes when it is feasible to do so.

Are there lots of toll roads in the UK?  I am guessing that long tunnel under the sea has a fee for sure.  But it has been there for a long time, maybe there is no fee now if it has been paid off?  No, even so Government usually keeps collecting regardless!

Well Chrissy I have worked on and built drag race cars and junior drag bikes, there are a few toll roads and tunnels in the UK but not many.
 Well went to get the Countryman from mums, battery flat as I forgot to charge it(slaps fore head) so left it on the drive on charge overnight. Mum has cricked her neck, she said from closing the washing machine door. I had a look at it and door is out of whack , I said before I looked at it you can afford to get a new one. Got her some Ibuprofen on the way back from fetching battery charger from workshop, she had just taken paracetamol and I told her that wont touch it. I will see how she is tomorrow.

Had a good morning at the breakfast American car club meet, sausage and bacon bap and 2 coffees and some good nattering. About 20 cars and then a load of bikes turned up, modern Harleys and Indians mostly and no Japanese stuff. Watered mums green house for her and filled watering cans, fed the birds and put her car back on the drive. Will call in again tomorrow to make sure she is okay, she said even trying to eat was hurting but she had managed to sort some potatoes, carrots and lamb for dinner. Joking I said do you want me to mash it!!

If someone has trouble eating meat one trick is to put it in a food chopper.

I did that after having three impacted wisdom teeth removed, all at the same time. Not fun!

As I went to get in my car this morning the lady from flat3 was sat in her car next to me, she said you look pretty! All the folks at the meeting and no one batted an eye, talking to the landlady and she is fine. D said she is a miserable c*w but she seem fine, I think D has a problem!!

Called on mum, she is still in pain so I did the green house and watering, fed the birds. Well I picked the whole bucket of seeds up and the handle snapped, of course it landed open side down. Bit of a clean up then! Picked a bowl of tomatoes and cut 2 courgettes. Rang docs for her and left her with a call back as she was 9 in a queue . Went down the workshop and did a good few hours work and then went and got mum some more painkillers. My sister had called in and was picking up the docs prescription of Ibuprofen jell that they said would work better. That saved me a job! I will call again in the morning and do the birds and watering.

One of the most powerful non-prescription pain meds is to take ibuprofen and Tylenol (paracetamol) together. Stagger the doses. They work differently in the body, are processed by different organs, and do not interact with each other. One blocks pain at the injury site, the other blocks pain signals in the brain. That gives you a one-two-punch.

I hope the gel works and she gets relief soon.

Yes I made sure she took both, doc said just the paracetamol and the ibuprofen gel.

Well a bit of a to do this morning, I could not rouse mum and doors locked. Front door key she gave me not working but luckily patio door not locked, she had got up for a wee and cup of tea. As she went to get up from chair her legs gave out, she had been lay on floor since 12.30. Took 2 calls and telling them she was having trouble breathing to get an ambulance out! Fetched the ex over as she was a nurse, rang my sister and she and her daughter came over. We left mum on the floor but made her comfy as we could, district nurse turned up as she was sent by emergency services to take blood sample. Even she said why have they sent me, emergency service has gone down hill. Anyway she is in hospital waiting on tests and scans now, might have been a reaction to the strong pain killers  the doc gave her for her pulled neck muscle. Sister is with her so nothing I can do but I did fix the front door lock, striker out of adjustment and she had dead locked it so no wonder key not working.
