They are destined for great things, went to mums on way home and my eldest was at the ex's so I popped in. He was redoing the downstairs loo, plastering and had stripped the room out.
Have to rush back from seeing mum as the mantaince man is coming to fit a new tap this afternoon. PIA taking the kettle and a large jug of cold water so I can wash and shave so will be glad when done.

I was late as got stuck behind a load of slow traffic, walked all the way to the ward and no mum. They had moved her to a ward on the other building so a long walk back, found her in the end. She has been walking to the bathroom on her own with a stick, I sat with her as she ate lunch and her hands are working a lot better so when she has finished her course of antibiotics they may send her straight home.
Got some work to do in her garden in the morning, pick beans, tomatoes and I might pick that rhubarb.

Davina,

What is your favorite car brand or model you like to work on?
Or maybe this is better asked by this:  What is your favorite type of work to do on a car?

Chrissy
Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Brother in Law was at mums, he is taking out the walk in round bath that was fitted for dad and only used a few times. Mum wont use it even the shower head, he is fitting a shower tray with a curtain as mum wont stand in a "box". Went to see her after , she is a lot better again walking to the bathroom on her own with a stick and she has more movement in her arms and neck. She said she feels normal so it might not be long before she is back home.

3hrs waking around the steam rally and my back was done, heavy bag of goodies didnt help. Got all the bits I wanted for my workshop and bought some nice cheese (had a taste first!)and some pickle. Went back to mums to get my Austin for the breakfast run tomorrow and sister and BIL where there , he has stripped out the old bath and started getting the space ready for new shower. I was back home for 1pm, collapsing on the sofa now to recover!!

I went to one of those in Pickering once. It was a really fun day out. Some incredible machines on display.

Yes lots to see but after 10years of going I have seen it all before, the old lorries and steam engines pulling a load up a steep hill is interesting though hearing stuff flat out under load.
Well just had a call from hospital, they are sending mum home tomorrow. Trouble is the bathroom is a mess with stuff ripped out and it wont be done till next Monday/Tuesday. We hoped she was still in till then.

YAY! and OH NO! at the same time.

Is it possible to clear a path to the loo so she can use it when there is no work actually happening in there? Or is the water shut off?

I have a Bucket-Loo that I use for camping, but it isn't stable enough for me to ask my Mum to use it.

Its clear enough but the door has been taken off, no probs but its standing up in the living room in the way, sister will be there tomorrow morning. She is visiting mum now and finding out if they have put a care package in place, I will go there after my breakfast run.
Must say no misgendering at the steam rally from stall holders and folks get out the way as they would for any lady. The smoke, dust and fumes were bad and I was glad to get out of it. TBH you needed a mask!
