Its not recognising to pass key to connect, TV and Phone still connect so I know its not the router. I suspect the wi fi has gone down on laptop?
  Having a lazy morning, have to go make mums lunch at 12 so just doing catchup on stuff at home like wasting time scrolling! Sisters birthday today, just sent her a text! Going to dig up some small carrots to go in mums stew made from the left over lamb shank she had yesterday and there might be some peas as well if they have filled out.

Just guessing here but make sure your laptop's system software is current and not viruses are present, that would be good no matter what.  Unless it is a really old laptop and it cannot take system software updates.

Windows 10 my dear but the expensive MacAfee should have stopped any virus.  Will see if it will run a check.

Check your settings to verify you are not in Airplane Mode. If it is off, turn it on for a minute, then turn it off.

Also, in your settings, you can reset the Network adapters. Here are some things to try:

Step 1. Check your network connection status

    Select the Network, Sound, or Battery icons on the right side of the taskbar.

    Make sure that Wi-Fi is turned on.

    Check if your network name shows Connected below it. If it displays a status other than Connected, select a Wi-Fi network you recognize from the list of available networks. Then tap the network and try to connect.

Step 2. Check Airplane Mode

    Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Airplane mode.
    Ensure Airplane mode is turned off.

Step 3. Forget and reconnect to the Wi-Fi Network

    In the Settings app on your Windows device

 select Network & internet > Wi-Fi, then select Manage known networks.

    Select your Wi-Fi network and click Forget.

    Reconnect to the network by selecting it and entering the password.


If those don't work, the issue may be a hardware problem with the laptop's Wi-Fi adapter.

Hopefully, one of these will fix it.

Windows 10 my dear but the expensive MacAfee should have stopped any virus.  Will see if it will run a check.

Take the laptop to somewhere else that has WiFi.  Try to connect there.  That may give you a clue.

Here is what I would try. I would get the latest driver for the wifi adapter. Then I would open Device Manager locate the wifi adapter. Right click on it and select uninstall device, Check the box to uninstall the driver. Then go into Programs and Features and uninstall the remaining parts of the wifi driver. Reboot (Not optional)

Install the new driver.

Find a local repair shop. They can correct the issue.

Have to go and do mums breakfast but then its a home day, cleaning ,clothes wash and a bread pudding to make. I got some past there best before date pan du chocolate buns from mums, sister must have bought them and mum tried one and didnt like it so they are torn up in a bowl with some more bread. I soaked it all in water as that was the way mum does it (and her mum) but looked up recipes on line and they all say milk and eggs! Never done it that way, I will just add dried fruit and spices .

I am sure they know I go food shop on Thurs, they send out the pace cars to slow me down and then the forward party do blocking tactics with trollies. Yup the idiot drivers were out in force again, 35mph in a clear 60 limit, cant drive through a gap an artic would go through and stop and stare at an empty road for ages before taking a junction. Then the supermarket was full of dawdling older folks--------
   Got back to mums, sister and her hubby was there as mobile optician had come to check mums eyes (one eye needs a stronger lens so new glasses) and Steve was filling in the gap in the fence where he took the shed down. Mums sister turned up so had to wait till they had gone to come home. Brain dead now, the final straw was mums sister as she can do anyone's head in!!!

WE need a day where we are allowed to just ram the people that are clogging up the roads by not going the speed limit or at least 5 over. The Department of transportation could sell a cattle gaurd to help pave the roads. And if someone has to ram you out if the way you lose your license for 365 days. If you prove you can drive on the next "GET OUT OF MY WAY" day then you get your license back.

This is why I shouldn't be allowed to make laws.
