Thank you, Ellen. I am so very sorry that you lost Diane, and so soon. I always appreciate the reminder to live in the moment and from a place of love. I'm not sure there's anything more important.

Sending love your way,

Today I am sitting at the beach in Huntington Beach looking at the sea where I scattered Diane's ashes. They were scattered where the street she was raised on ended at the Pacific Ocean she loved so much.

Today we have a break in the rain storms. The sky is beautiful with a calm sea and the sun glistening off the water. Diane would be so happy.

I miss her so much

Thank you Pema and Danielle.

Here is view I had this afternoon as I listened to the Rick Springfield's song Irreplicable . He was one of Diane's favorite singers. We saw him in concert every time he was in the aera.

It's absolutely gorgeous, Ellen.

I remember seeing Rick Springfield back in the early 80's and him being fantastic.

I'm glad you were able to enjoy such a pleasant day remembering Diane.

You both continue to be in my thoughts.

Ellen thank you for sharing your story - I enjoyed reading everything despite it being a sad story.

Despite the fact that you lost your wife right before your final surgery you can hold onto the memories and the massive positive that she had your back through thick and thin. That's a remarkable thing because not too many wives stick around. You were blessed to have a wife like that who truly had your back. What a blessing.

On March 11, 2026, at 10:00 am, lil' Hopscotch crossed over the rainbow bridge. The exceedingly difficult decision was made to alleviate his suffering. God, I miss him, I have not felt this sad since my beloved wife Diane died five years ago.

Awwww Ellen I'm so sorry to hear the loss of your sweet dog. It's such a selfless decision to let them go, but so hard as you see their souls in their eyes. I'm sure he looked at you with love and thanked you for being his best friend and love for this life. You have that bond and without doubt felt that, so he knew he was adored by you.

Sending you all my love and care. He was a beautiful boy, and credit to your care.

Love Charlotte ❤️

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Sorry to hear this. The loss of a pet can be felt very deeply. They are part of the family. So sorry for your loss.
