The Goodyear Blimp just left the Traveler's Championship in Connecticut to go to the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Michigan.
I've gotten many pictures of the Blimp of the years.  This is one of the better ones in terms of providing some context.

It's Friday, and I haven't mooned anyone in a while...

I took this photo last night. Canon R7 with a Canon RF800mm f/11 lens and 1.4x extender. Exposure was 1/250s at iso1250.

Wowzers! That is spectacular. Great shot, Jess.

My dad has some photos of the moon from when he worked at NASA during the Apollo missions. I think this shot surpasses those and you took yours through atmosphere. Well done.

Thanks Lori and Iztaccihuatl! Although this photo was partially due to skill, a large part of my success is due to technological progress through the years. Cameras are better, lenses are better, the transition from film to digital, and the magic of photo processing with software. Film does still have a place in the world of photography, but going digital in many cases can improve the odds of capturing and creating the image you want to see.

I no longer post a photo, but a short video of the island where I was born and lived as a toddler and child. I took a helicopter. In retrospect, it was a pristine and beautiful place.

It's a ruby-throated hummingbird. They're quite common here in late Spring through early Fall. Only adult males have bright red feathers on their necks, so this one is probably a female or a young male. We have four feeders out for them. We clean the feeders every other day. If you leave the sugar water in the feeders too long, mold and fungus will start growing -- both of which are unhealthy for the hummingbirds.
