Howdy All...

I just noticed my 10 year Susanniversary...(anniversary of joining this site) is less than 3 weeks away... 🎉🎊🤗🎉🎊

I was fully transition into my new life when I first came here in 2016 and had avoided forums early on in my process because, I had seen a lot of negativity being put forward (on other websites, not Susan"s Place) and I didn't want a lot of negativity rattling around in my head and coloring my outlook as I jumped off the cliff that leads to this new life... 🌻

Once I found the things I had wanted for a lifetime, I wanted to share what I learned along the way so others might find their way as well...I am so glad I found this wonderful place... Susan's Place, to do just that...🌻

Here is a screen shot of my first post here 10 years ago...

Let go of the things that no longer serve you... Let go of the pretense of the false persona, it is not you... Let go of the armor that you have worn for a lifetime, to serve the expectations of others and, to protect the woman inside... She needs protection no longer.... She is tired of hiding and more courageous than you know... Let her prove that to you....Let her step out of the dark and feel the light upon her face.... amg🌸

Happy anniversary here!

Keep on coming back, you are fascinating and I think very helpful for many of us with your comments and sharing.

Hugs,

Chrissy
Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Happy upcoming susanniversary Ashley!

Thank you for sharing that first post. I think I am pretty much where you were 10 years ago. I am 50 and though I started HRT a good number of years ago, I am still afraid to take that final step, I feel like I have arrived at a point where I can't continue lying to myself though.

You are a shining example of what is possible. It gives me hope as to where I might end up in 10-12 years.

Sarah!... I have nothing but faith in you little sister! 💕

You will find your way in your own time and in your own way... we can tiptoe a bit towards things but at some point, a bit of leap of faith is required of us... as we contemplate our leap, it is so very easy to let fears have more than their say... to let them tell us of what we may lose without giving the same consideration to Hope as it tells us of the glorious things we will gain... what you seek is well within your grasp girl... You will find your tipping point when you are tired of not having it... then you will reach out and claim it... Amazing things patiently await you! 💕🤗💕

Wise words as always Ashley. I know I will have to leap at some point, If I can have half as successful a transition as yours I will die a happy girl.

One day it will be me in that bikini, wandering down a sandy beach. Though where I live I will be freezing my tits off ha ha!

Ashley, in the ~5 years since I joined here, I've witnessed an immeasurable amount of support and guidance from you to everyone here. While almost all beautiful, settled trans women (who are able) fade into the woodwork and live their lives and truths, you've chosen to stay here and lift others up time and again. The entire group owes you a debt of gratitude.

I want to personally thank you for always being there for me, always offering kind words of support, and for being a role model for us in so many ways.

Onward, beautiful sister! 💕🙏🌻

Like the others, I want to thank you for your years of support and advice.

To those who are just starting and wondering if all of this is even possible, you are one of the living proofs that it is.

Keep reminding us, and I hope to see you here over the next ten years.

Courtney and Lori!

So many thanks to you both for your kind and thoughtful words!!! 💕🤗💕

I was so blessed in the early days of my process to have met some transitioned women that served as proof to me that what I had always viewed as the impossible... was highly attainable and just waiting for me to choose it... The only limits were the ones I placed on myself... They did all this by simply living their lives and being there to share a few thoughts and insights 🤗

Everything I wanted was right there on the other side of whatever fears I could conjure up to throw into my own path. 🌻

They gave me the keys that unlock the doors to a life well lived and I will never get tired of trying to pay forward that priceless gift as best I can! 🌻

Onward We Go Brave Sisters!

Ashley 💕

"From this hour I ordain myself loos'd of limits and imaginary lines,
Going where I list, my own master total and absolute,
Listening to others, considering well what they say,
Pausing, searching, receiving, contemplating,
Gently, but with undeniable will, divesting myself of the holds that would hold me.
I inhale great draughts of space,
The east and the west are mine, and the north and the south are mine.

I am larger, better than I thought,
I did not know I held so much goodness.

All seems beautiful to me,
I can repeat over to men and women You have done such good to me I would do the same to you,
I will recruit for myself and you as I go,
I will scatter myself among men and women as I go,
I will toss a new gladness and roughness among them,
Whoever denies me it shall not trouble me,
Whoever accepts me he or she shall be blessed and shall bless me."
