Stottie Girl

Quote from: tgirlamg on Today at 12:34:27 PMHey Sarah!

No two quakes feel exactly alike... some are like a single lurch feeling, some are a slow shaking, and others fast and intense shaking (like last night) If you have been in the vicinity of heavy bulldozers working, or tanks! It is a bit like that!😅

Oh of course! I often spend my free time sitting next to bulldozers and tanks. That's cleared that up for me ha ha!

I think I know what you mean. Sort of like standing next to the tracks when a freight train goes past?

Lori makes it sound like it's as if you're on a boat but on land.

Hi Kellie!

Subtitles can definitely be our friend! 🤗 BTW... love the hair style girl! 💕👩👍

Hey Lori!

My biggest one was the Sylmar quake in L.A. in 1971 when I was little... That was a 6.5 I believe!

Onward!

Im letting my hair grow a bit more and I'm going to give it a try. Looks like I can lay it flat if I have to be in male mode. Then fluff it up to be sassy.
I was about an hour and a half away when Lomapreata hit we still shook

Sarah,

Some definitely have a rolling feel to them like waves and others just shake... sometimes it starts with a little shaking and then the intensity gets dialed up a bit before it is done... the ones you feel really are few and far between though happily!

Kellie!

Let's hope it stays up and sassy most of the time sister! 🤗 Yeah... Loma Prieta was in 1989... I was living a couple hours away in Sacramento at that time and didn't feel it.

Onward!

Quote from: Stottie Girl on Today at 11:08:18 AMGlad to know you're ok Ashley. I have never felt so much as a tremor in my life. The UK is boringly placid when it comes to extreme events like that. It sounds daft and I'm sure I would instantly regret it but I am curious to know what they feel like. My friend experienced a mild one in Venice of all places. I feel like I'm missing out lol!

We do have more tornados per square mile than anywhere in the world I suppose but they are barely enough to rattle your roof tiles normally.

Yeah, our US friends have far more "Exciting" weather. I am with you 100%. When the most you can expect is some drizzle or a mildly overcast day... seeing the world come alive is something... I mean... you get a thirst for.

Our tornadoes are literally not a blip on the radar, sadly. Other than the Birmingham one, which was quite nasty. (The OG Birmingham, not Birmingham, Alabama).

I want to chase one of those suckers before I die.

Earthquakes though, no thanks. When the world turns your floor to liquid... I'm out. I don't envy you that, Ash. That is scary.

Oh hell yeah I would like to go storm chasing one day too.I would love to take my camera and get some of those ominous dark and forboding skies. It looks amazing to people like us with our bland boring weather. Well we did get Storm Arwen here a few years ago which had 100mph winds. Flattened loads of forests. It was dramatic for us at least.

Seems very dangerous to storm chase.  Leave it to the pros and researchers.
Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

And who can forget the 80s, where Michael Fish fell on his sword when he said there wasn't a Hurricane on the way, and most of the south of England subsequently got flattened. Egg on your face is an understatement.

Nevertheless... our US brothers and sisters deal with far more than we do.

I am calling shotgun, Sarah, haha. Couple of brit girls haring across America... that's a movie plot right there.

Incredible.

Thank you, Ash.

The soundtrack to that video is haunting.

It's all fun and games until you see a super cell coming across the planes and then it gets so quiet. 😨. Been there done that and no thank you. Make sure you got a real good telephoto lens.
