I'm making beef soup today with the leftover bone I cut out of a ribeye steak. I browned the meat on the bone with a hot skillet.
I saved a slice of onion in the freezer and have carrots and celery stored in the refrigerator. After I browned the bone I fried the onion until it was slightly brown, put it in the slow cooker, and warmed up the carrots and celery after turning off the stove.
A cup of Better than Broth in a small slow cooker is now at 201 degrees Fahrenheit. I can add more food or water to lower the cooking temperature.
