ok cool this is a revived thread & I get to play too -
not in order, I can't do that, but the top entry is #1 in my book.

Eraserhead (I have Lynch's meticulously cleaned-up DVD of it. Every. Shot. A Masterpiece.)
Natural Born Killers. (some funny stuff dudes and dudettes)
Lolita (Kubrick. Peter Sellers as Clare Quilty. The debut of Sue Lyons in the titular role.)
Fellini's Satyricon (see it baked.)
Mulholland Drive (there is a logic to this one if you know two, hidden, things)
Leaving Las Vegas (got to include one tearjerker flick)
Blue Velvet (Frank Booth to Jeffrey: "You're like me.")
Lost Highway (Patricia Arquette.)
A Clockwork Orange (make a great double feature with Natural Born Killers)
City Of Women (my kinda town...)
Twin Peaks - Fire Walk With Me (Garmonbozia)
Dr. Strangelove (Ride 'em Cowboy)
Apocalypse Now ("never get out of the boat")
2001: A Space Odyssey ("open the Pod Bay doors, please Hal")
8 1/2 (scaffolding)
Crimes And Misdemeanors ("if it bends, it's funny")
The Elephant Man (captures that whole David Lean atmo. Mel Brooks picking Lynch for this, what vision)

Damn, Jan... the only ones out of that group that wouldn't be on my list are the ones I haven't seen!

I would only add two. Citizen Kane:

Thatcher: What would you like to have been?
Charles Foster Kane: Everything you hate.

and Chinatown:

Forget it Jake... it's Chinatown.

Up in Smoke             ( Can't say if I would like it as much today, depends on my state of mind lol)

There is a scene Nero (this goes by QUICK), up on a hill, a car goes by.
I think personally that is a WONDERFUL flaw for this film to have.

Time Bandits puts me in mind of Brazil.

Chynna

"The Green Mile"

Only movie that ever made me cry or maybe it was because I had just started HRT and my emotions were way out of control.
:D
In any case a lovely movie

Oh and to Jillieann,
Ever seen a movie called
"Metropolis"
One heck of an interesting, accurate, and imaginitive look of humanity and the future of man kind cirrca 1927 silent movie!

A classic in the making cirrca 1975
Chynna

Ps "Trip to the moon"- 1902
