Glad you can finally get things moving.
Ages ago, when I was fighting Social Security for my disability claim, a woman at the SS office told me that 80% of initial claims are denied, and 60% are denied on appeal. That was where I was at that stage. She said that it changes if you have an attorney and ask for a review. Then it goes up to 70% approved.
I hired an attorney (no cost - they get paid by SS) and got the case in front of an Administrative Judge. They have 90 days to decide, and he took 89.99999 days. Overall, the process took 18 months. During that time, I had a few family tragedies, and I ended up losing everything (bankruptcy, foreclosure, unable to work) and almost ended up homeless. I had no idea it would be that difficult.
Plan ahead, just in case. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I think your situation may get approved right away, and that's what I am hoping for you. Good luck.
