I start semi-retirement on Friday.  I have to work 20 hours a week for two years.  Really looking forward to that. Next Sunday, my wife and I are going on a two-week vacation to Spain for my two favorite things, tapas and red wine.  This vacation is way overdue. I'm starting to feel my brain frying.

Since I am going incognito as a male, I wear a rash guard t-shirt and shorts on the beach.  Even with a 42D chest, no one notices.  I have yet to say "Eyes up here".

Chrissy, thank you for your good wishes.  I definitely felt it was time to start retirement, and particularly to go on vacation!

Lori and Danielle, I believe you'll appreciate this.  This morning, I started to get through a few boxes my sons left in the basement. In one of them were two bags of sand, a gold pan, and instructions.  My family did an Alaskan cruise when the boys were young.

When we docked in Ketchikan, we were sucked into the nearest tourist shop. The boys immediately bought two bags of "gold ore" and a gold pan.  It disappeared into our house for over 15 years until I discovered the bags today.

It's a cold and rainy day here in NYC, and I thought I would see if there was anything in the bags.  As I stood with the pan in my hand, pouring water into it and swirling the pan around over the basement sink, I thought about how ridiculous I must look panning for gold in my NYC basement.

...but I got suckered in.  I followed the instructions, and by the end I found two small gold flakes...Danielle, I am catching a flight to visit you tonight!

I often pan in my kitchen sink or set up my Gold Cube in my bathtub, depending on how much material I have to process.

I started semi-retirement on Friday and today my wife and I are going on a much needed two week vacation.  We are headed to southern Spain. I need a change from US politics.  I am not taking any computers or tablets because I plan to focus on red wine, siestas and tapas!

All very selfish, but totally necessary.

No, not a peep as of right now Emma. I have been emailing her but no reply. She said she wasn't sure when she would be released but hoped it would be Friday. They may have decided to keep her in over the weekend.

I must admit I'm getting a little bit worried about her, I hope everything went OK.

I'm sure she'll pop up soon wondering what all the fuss is about!

At this stage I'd rather watch the people in tv buy home.  I'd rather rent and have none of the cost to maintain a property.

I need less aggravation and more wine time😁.
