Quote from: Stottie Girl on Yesterday at 11:56:24 AMTrue, certainly the first couple od seasons anyway. It didn't grab me in the same way as the Expanse did though. Probably helped that I'd already read the first 3 books by the time the series started.
I fracking loved it. 😀

I quite like Spam, too. And something else we have here called "Bacon Grill". It tastes nothing like actual bacon, but it's very moreish.

When it comes to pizza, though, I used to like pepperoni but now I just get a regular cheese one and add my own chorizo sausage. It is, in my opinion, soooooo much nicer. Authentic Spanish chorizo is the GOAT, but the stuff you can get in the UK isn't terrible. And way better than pepperoni.

Babylon 5 was the soundtrack to my childhood. And the spinoff show they made that they cancelled after one season, Crusade. Which, like Space Above & Beyond had so much potential. That and after American Gothic, I just really liked Gary Cole, haha. But yeah, maybe it could do with with a remake, I'm not hugely sure it will work though. The cast were as iconic as the show.

I watched the first four or so seasons of The Expanse, but for whatever reason just kind of stopped. The videogame they're making of it is, by all accounts, the new Mass Effect.

I do agree with Kellie though, the Battlestar Galactica reboot, and its spinoff Caprica, were both very good. I didn't watch either until long after they first released, though.

I like Spam. I would keep some and slice a couple pieces fry them up slap them on white bread with yellow mustard. Nice and tasty.
I've gotten Hawaiian stir fry and it had cubed spam in it. Quick and tasty.

Bacon Grill god I haven't had that for ages! It was nice though.

Sorry Emma we've kind of taken over your blog here! I forgot where I was!

"Sorry, Emma, we've kind of taken over your blog here! I forgot where I was!"

No, Sarah, I love it.  It's like being at a local pub with your best friends.

Now back to an important subject, bacon.  I love American-style bacon, on almost anything, cheeseburger, a grilled cheese sandwich, or a BLT sandwich (bacon, lettuce, and tomato for the non-Americans or Bacon Butty for my British fans).

Just got my mammogram results, I'm ok.  I want to shout out to Danielle for letting us all know that with a female body comes responsibility.  Thank you, Danielle!

Mammograms are vital.  I did not need to go back for a 3D mammogram this year.  I have had to in the past because of dense breast tissue.

BLTs would lack something with the bacon, for sure!

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Good news on the mammogram Emma.

Nah, you can keep your crispy dry American bacon, give me good old UK smoked back bacon, or better yet, Ayreshire Roll. Mmmm.

Mayo on a BLT everytime, ketchup on a standard butty and brooon saaas on a saussage bap! Both of which are infinitely improved with the addition or fried mushrooms or black pudding (or both!)

Actually Emma, as someone who has spent quite a bit of time in the UK what's your verdict on black pudding?

Good news that you're okay, Emma!

I am with Sarah, though. In the UK, American bacon is more akin to what we call "Streaky bacon". It's thinner, and crispier. Give me a meaty British rasher any day. Something with more chew than crunch, I guess.

Mayo... absolutely. Ketchup... ewwww. Brown sauce... it heavily depends. The own brand stuff is better than something like HP because it isn't as sweet.

Pro tip... stick a poached egg in a sausage bap. It will change your life.

Black pudding is my Kryptonite. I love the stuff. It has to be good quality though.

Sarah and Lauren, I like it with the classic English breakfast, but if we are talking pudding, I love Sticky toffee pudding in the evening after dinner.  I also like haggis, but that comes from my Scottish ancestry and my love of single malts.

Back to bacon for a second, I love a club sandwich the best. It is a triple-decker sandwich made with three slices of toasted bread, sliced chicken, crispy bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayonnaise.

Thank you, Lauren and Chrissy, for your thoughts. I always hold my breath with the mammograms.  Breast cancer is horrible, but I always feel it would be particularly cruel to get breast cancer after waiting so many years to get my own breasts.

I have thought about this too.

I can't imagine that discussion with an oncologist.

"We need to remove your breasts."

"Um, no. I'll die first. I worked too hard to get them."

Seriously, that is devastating for ciswomen, so I can only imagine the effects on transwomen. Very cruel, indeed.
