We're about to enter another heat dome.  We'll hit 110 degrees (38 Celsius) by Friday.  We have a huge advantage over Europe because this happens regularly.  We have air conditioning everywhere, and we are on a huge ocean.  Still, it is miserable.

I am so a winter person.

The World Cup madness continues along with the 250th American Birthday.  Like every birthday party, we have clowns, but they were elected and are not invited to my country's party.  The normal people, the ones ignored by the media, will celebrate with friends, BQs, and fireworks...the way the Founding Fathers intended.

Stay cool, anyway you can!

And the heat goes on...Looking at 105 degrees today.  I plan to hug my air conditioner.

The 250th celebration for 4th of July certainly is having some bizarre twists because of Trump's choices in Washington DC.  Thankfully there are enough adults who respect what the 4th represents and what American patriotism truly means.

In NYC we also have Taylor Swifts wedding, that I was not invited to (besides what can you give a billionaire?), the World Cup, the Macy's fireworks display, and the annual Nathan's hotdog eating contest (not for the faint of heart to watch).

You Tube postings should be busy this weekend!

Stay cool and enjoy a cold beer and hot dog.

We are heading for 30C next week, American car club meet over the road from my workshop Sunday so taking the Countryman. Hope you have a good 4th, burgers, ribs and hotdogs!!

As someone who has recently been through a hellish spell of heat, and set for another one, I sympathise with you, Emma. If anyone needed proof that climate change is a thing...

I have seen the Nathan's thing. It's both fascinating and utterly disgusting at the same time. That is not how you eat a hot dog, haha. Hot dog buns should not be a beige slurry.

If I don't get the chance to say it tomorrow, happy 4th of July to you and all my American friends. Fighting for the right to be free of tyranny is always a good thing. Keep fighting for it. <3 It's what makes the American people what you are.

That NYC weather is very hot. 
Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

We have a small beach house on the Rockway Peninsula on Jamaica Bay that we bought 25 years ago when real estate was cheap.

I love explaining to people that we own a beach house in New York City. People generally think all of NYC is like Manhattan.

I spent yesterday replacing a 25 year old hot tub pump on the hottest day of the year but I got it in. My back will appreciate it later today.

The harbor is busy with the sailing ships celebrating the 250th 4th. Lots of helicopters, jets and even a blimp...not Trump. He's in Washington DC thankfully. 

Should be a great fireworks display later tonight.  Hamburgers and hotdogs are on the menu.

I hope my British friends have a great cooler weekend and Happy 4th to all of my American friends. To everyone else, enjoy the day!!!
